So i was driving home tonight and I noticed the car kinda felt a little rough like my wheels were out of alignment or something. I figured my tire was low because I had a low tire this morning that I had to fill up. So I pulled into a shell gas station next to an air pump, step out of the car and I see this

Kumho AST 225/40/18
Now I'm wondering why this happened. This morning I noticed that this exact same tire was low @ 27psi and the rest of the tires were @ 37psi. So I took it down to fill it up. On the side of the tire it says the max pressure is 50psi, so I filled all my tires up to 45psi. Was this too high and is the cause of the bubble or is it a manufacturer defect? It's just weird because earlier the same tire was low and now after I filled it up, it has a giant bubble in it. The rest of my tires are fine.
I have about 10k on these tires and since I need to replace this one, do I need to replace the other 3?

what kinda of warranty did you get with those tires?? Maybe you can claim a manufacturer defect and get full new set.

Did you ever drive on that tire when it was completely deflated?

I'm just glad I caught this before I got on the freeway, I had to take 15 miles of backroads with my hazards on (didn't want to go over 30mph) to get home lol
Construction surrounds me where I live, they even detoured a detour in one spot. So I've basically been forced to go offroading a few times and that combined with high speeds and the low tire I had just noticed are probably what caused it. I'll carefully drive to the tire shop where I originally bought them and see what they have to say. Might purchase some expensive eagle f1's because I don't want to chance this crap again.

Why would you fill the tire up to 45 psi? Not that I think this caused the problem, but only reason to put that much air in the tire is for autox. Also, didn't think it was good to run a 225/40/18 on the stock rim. The rim is too narrow.

That bubble is caused by a belt being broken inside the tire wall usually caused by pot holes etc...

Change that tire A.S.A.P. the rims look all right tho. Get one of the mobile tire people to change it for you.Don't risk driving it to the garage, even if you decide to push the car! As to what may have caused it, it should be the heat! This stuff happens. Then if water pops in, you're messed!

They charged me $130 to replace the tire and I even bought all 4 tires from them originally, but I needed it done that day so I went for it. They said a new tire won't effect awd because the other 3 are in good shape and are low profile anyway. I'm getting a new set of tires/wheels soon anyway so whatever, won't be going back to that shop again. crazy stuff tho

That was some bubble! Way bigger than I'm used to seeing on Kumhos. Thats more than just your typical belt failure, we're talking serious structural failure. I'm surprised it didn't blow out.
I had to replace a fairly new tire once due to a small sidewall leak. Its a newer trend to just avoid fixing ANY sidewall leak and replace because of liability. They wanted me at first to pay full price, but after talking with them and checking my history, they gave me a little discount. Sometimes you get a break, sometimes you don't.

What he said. You had way too much pressure and the tire size isn't particularly safe for the stock rim width.

UPDATE
I was changing my oil yesterday and I looked at my front passenger side wheel from under the car and there was another bubble forming on the inside! I went right down to a different tire shop and had them replace all my tires. I got some nice yokohama's 225/45/18 and the difference in ride quality is night and day. Everything is smoother, quieter, and just handles so much better.
If you have a ms6, don't get 225/40/18. I'd definitely reccomend a taller sidewall and I personally will never buy Kumho tires again.
