Just purchased a used 06 Grand Sport with the optional 18 inch wheel package. All 4 rims are bent (I knew this at the time of sale).

I got a few quotes from some places around Charlotte here to true the wheels for $125 per wheel. This sounds reasonable, but these aren't exactly high end rims to begin with, so I was wondering if it just makes more sense to buy some rims from tire rack that are within the same price range. I was surprised to find some for $125 to $160 per wheel.

What do you guys think of these? Are they garbage or do you think it makes sense to pay a bit extra per wheel and get these?

ASA AR1 $160 Link

Kazera KZ-J $129 Link

Also if anyone has any other recommendations in this price range I am open to anything!! My car is black.

Thaks fellas.

This is the 2009+ section, not 2008 and before.

My experience is that rims are never worth what they are new . . . if you're not picky with style and not in a huge hurry, you can always get a set of good-shape rims for under $400 - local better than online due to shipping.

If you insist on new, check out tirerack.com and then choose the cheapest 18", then figure in their shipping . . .don't pay any more new at a shop.

If you get particular about style, the price goes up quick, both new and used.

Best bet (if you like the OEM look) is to buddy up to the local Mazda dealer and catch a set "like new" as take-off rims (when a customer wants nicer rims). Again, if they're giving you a deal, probably under $400.

Hope that helps.

I've started looking at the classifieds, haven't seen anything in the $400 price range yet. Fixing these wheels at $125 each just doesn't make sense.

are they bent or skuffed? id be more concerned about what bent them if that is the cae. And I would just buy a set of RX8 rims on here if I were you.
