Full Version: 06 10-Spoke Miata Wheels on Speed6?

I have a set of wheels from my old 3, that I cannot decide if I want to use on my Speed6, and if so, for winter or summer.

They worked great on the 3, and have new Yoko Yk520's (great all season imo). They are super light, and I could absolutely tell the difference with them on the 3; just quicker. I want to see how they feel on the Speed6! They are 17x7, and cannot remember the exact offset.

I threw 2 on one side of the Speed a few days ago, they looked great, and plenty of clearance all around.

Looking for opinions on using this wheel on the Speed6, due to the extreme light weight, 10-spoke (smaller spokes than std Speed6 wheels), and the fact they were designed for a much smaller car.

Would they be safe/be reliable/hold up, on the Speed6?

Thanks a lot,
Tim

The maximum load for each wheel is something like 820kg, right? Maybe it was 6xx something, but whatever, wheels are designed to be able to withstand a whole shitload of pressure and force, so yeah, I think these would be fine on the speed.

These wheels have been on other 6i/6s' without any issues, btw. Also, remember that the Rx7 16x8's were also designed for a car that weighed around 2800lbs and have been seen on practically every car that has a 5x114.3 bolt pattern, almost all of which weigh more than the Rx7.
