I have been getting a "insufficient flow" egr cel code the last few days, and since I am not about to waste my money on a new egr, anyone know of a way to disable or remove the egr and fool the computer into thinking it is still there and working properly?

Talk with whoosh as I think he has hinted at something coming along that will help eliminate the EGR CEL. Also he was the one of the first to just remove it and add a block off plate at the block and a threaded filler at the manifold.

I also get this code from time to time on my car. I usually just clear it and sometimes it will stay off for weeks.

I'm guessing that the EGR may need a cleaning. Anyone have scans of the MS6 shop manual that would like to post the instructions for this? I have the 2002 Mazda 6 shop manual (which is good for most things on the MS6), but since the EGR valve is in a different position than the regular Mazda 6, I'd like to see the correct instructions to make sure I don't goof up anything.

Yeah I might need to do that. I know basicly how he did it. I just can't remember the name of the post, exactly how he did it, or if it cleared it.

I was still waiting on the fix. Perhaps he posted it and I just missed it (or perhaps on MSF? - too many forums to keep track of)? But ever since I did the EGR delete w/ the block off plate...I've just learned to live with the CEL  I just check it occasionally to make sure I'm not throwing any more than the EGR one I already know of.

Yeah that is the thread, I was just wondering if anyone had a fix. Apparently not, I talked to Whoosh and he sad it is on Lou's to do list.
