So the plan is to get Recaro Sport seats for both the driver and passenger sides.

1) Which brackets would be the best? I want sliders. I know Corbeau makes brackets, and I've seen Sparco custom brackets. Would either of these work with the Racaro seats? Autoexe?

2) My stock seats have side air bags. Anyone know how to trick the system so my light doesn't stay on?

3) I plan to run stock seat belts 95% of the time, do most brackets include a stock mounting point? If I were to run harnesses, what is the best way to mount them? Can I tie them into the child safety tie downs? I'd like them to be removable.

Thanks guys!

Wedge is your place for brackets, they make them for a few companies, so just go direct to them.

not sure on the air bag light, just be careful if you plan on playing with it

...i'd look for a place to mount eyelets rather than using the seatbelt points. it could work, just don't recommend it if you want them to hold up when they are needed. many companies have options on mounting styles, so you can find something that will suit your needs i'm sure.

Can you give me an idea of how long the bracket take to make and how much they cost?

1) +1 on the Wedge Engineering brackets. When I ordered mine, they only took a few days to manufacture and ship. Wedge Eng. is a great company to deal with!

2) You need to wire in a resistor of the correct impedance across the circuit. This will "trick" the system into thinking that the air bags are still there. It takes forever to figure out the correct resistance and unless you are prepared to spend hours trying to figure it out...I'd plan on running without air bags for a while.

3) The Wedge Eng. brackets come with a spot to mount the OEM seat belt. I had to grind away a little metal corner off of the a piece directly adjacent to it in order for the OEM clip to fit properly on one of the brackets...I can't remember which side though. In regards to running harnesses...the only way to correctly mount the shoulder straps is to run them to a harness bar. There are two styles: one is an extra bar welded into your roll cage and the other the type that rosem32 and I have; it bolts between the car's upper seat belt mounts on the B-pillars and braces itself again off of the lower seat belt mounts on the unibody. Using eye bolts with a backing plate welded behind the OEM lower seat belt mount points on the unibody should hold up in the case of an accident. You can also use the rear seat bracket bolt location with a reenforcement plate to mount the other side.

Well the seatbelt is actually attached to the stock seat rail, which will need to be replaced with aftermarket seats. Pretty much all aftermarket brackets should have a place to mount the stock buckle, and it should be a simple bolt up connection.

The Wedge engineering seat brackets have a spot to mount your clip for OEM seat belts but it needs to be modified slightly due to clearance issues.
