My brake (PEDAL) squeaks like crazy when I depress it. It sounds like an old wooden door mixed with a baby pig. Its not the brakes themselves, its definitely the pedal assembly. I've WD40'd the shit outta the assembly bar under the dash and where the pedal slides into the box near the floor with no change in squeakiness. Its REALLY fucking annoying, happens while driving, while in park, all the time. If you press the brake, it squeaks. Gets louder as u press harder. I've tried grease, wd40, armor all wipes, drying it off, lubing it up, cleaning it, dirtying it, yelling at it. It will not stop making this god awful noise. Brakes work fine, but this squeaky creaking noise is driving me fucking insane
WTF is causing this, and is there a way to fix it myself?

Good, and I wont lecture you on doing some research yourself because I did do a search. In fact, here is a cap of the results of said search ![]() hmmm, wow, looks like the info you posted above doesnt show up as a result at all. HEY, geez, crazy thought here....maybe uh....maybe people come to a forum for the specific model of the car they drive to get information from people first hand when their own search results fail. Huh, maybe uh....maybe thats kinda the whole point. To get help from a person instead of an archive or database. But thanks for the info

I guess you have to look a little harder.
http://forum.mazda6club.com/index.php?showtopic=112607 Anyway, just breakin' balls. See if that also helps you.

I got the same thing too, sounds like someone snorting. I don't think it's the brake fluid ... but it could be, not sure if it's really possible to "hear" the brake fluid make noise when sitting inside the car with the engine running. I'd like to try putting lube on some mechanical parts, but I need to know where and with what product.

I had the same annoying problem with my 6, and the dealer replaced my brake fluid. That was the end of it. It said on my invoice TSB 04-005/06. I had this done Feb. of last year, and so far no brake squeak at all. I don't believe lubricating any part of the system will solve the problem.

my car also did the same thing. i figured flushing the fluid would be a bit of a pain , SO , I bought a turkey baster and a NEW bottle of DOT 3 brake fluid. sucked out as much fluid from the master cylinder as i could and discarded it. refilled the master cylinder with the new fluid. the noise went away. problem solved. No need to bleed anything. hope this helps

My brake pedal has been making this same squishy sound all summer (though the brakes still work fine). I thought it would have gone away after a few days, then weeks, but I sorta just got used to it. How much fluid is in the brake lines? I imagine that if I just replace what is in the reservoir it won't really do anything since that fluid isn't being circulated and mixed with the old fluid, is it? How do I force it to mix after replacing what is in the reservoir? |

hm, i had the same problem last week. the symptoms match exactly with your descriptions. i used some wd40 under the brake pedal area to solve the problem. for some reason at first i thought it didnt work. but after pumping the brake pedal a few times the sound went away completely.
