HOW TO: Install Gauge Overlays. Time to complete is about 45 minutes depending on how long you take to put the gauge overlays on.

Before you begin turn on your car and view where your gas needle is reading in case you move it out of position while installing the gauges. Make sure car is off now and you can begin

Step 1: Your gunna wanna lower your steering wheel.

Step 2: Then remove the two screws holding the black piece around the guages. It will have the rubber piece that is attatched to the steering wheel on it just unhook those.

Step 3: Now take that black piece away. Now remove the 3 screws holding the gauge cluster in place, one will be up top in the middle and one on each lower corner.

Step 4: Now pull the gauge cluster out and remove the plugs from it.

Step 5: Now bring the whole gauge cluster in your house and start unclipping the plastic shield and the black piece below it that keep you from having the gauge completely open.

Step 6: Once that is done your ready to put on the overlays. Its tricky for the one that covers your mph and gas but just fool around with it for a bit and you will see how to do it, keep in mind the overlay is flexible and dont be affraid to put some pressure on it to make it fit.

Step 7: Once the overlays are on I put pieces of tape around the corners to secure it.
http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show...68_309_full.jpg

Step 8: Now just clip back on the black piece and clear plastic shield. Bring it back out to the car.

Step 9: Now for the wires, your gunna tap into the wires on the bigger connector it plugs into the right side of the gauge cluster. Black goes to black and Red goes to the LIGHT GREEN wire with a red stripe on it. Once wired put electrical tape over exposed wire.

What I did with the control switch is I set it to the setting I liked and just tucked it behind the cluster.

Before I put everything back on I turned the car on to check all my needles were reading correctly. So once you have wired the guages up I would immediately check to make sure everything is fine. NOW you can reverse all the steps in which you dissasembled the cluster.

Make SURE car is off before you preform any of this below.

If your needles are off at all just move them into the opposite direction they are off until you feel a little tension and judging by how much it is off go that distance.
For example if your mph is reading 5mph when your not moving move it counter clockwise until you feel a little TENSION and gauge the distance you need to go in order to go back to 0. This method works for all the needles.
The gas is the only one that is a problem. If it does not go back into position this is what you need to do.
Example. If it was reading half full before you messed around with it and now it reads quarter full, you need to move it counter clockwise until you feel tension and move it the correct distance to retain it reading half full. Once you do that make sure the needle can move from full to empty with no tension, If there is tension it is not in the right position and fix accordingly.
