QUOTE(GaryS @ Jul 5 2006, 10:08 AM) Here is the Voodoo knob from my Miata in our 6s. I own the same style knob only polished. Let me say its great to use most of the time, but whenever i get in the car, its like a hotpocket. Either ice cold, or lava hot, but never anywhere inbetween. |

Definitely. The original shift knob is nice, and everything, but once you've memorized gear patterns, and you're the only one driving the car, the knob just feels out of place. The car has such smooth lines, and the OEM knob is a little too...roundy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
So...which one gets the best vote so far? |

I don't think the RX-8 knob would look good on the MS6.

Mine is the spun aluminum: (IMG:http://home.comcast.net/~rmcclell/onlinestorage/Knob.jpg) It feels better to me than a leather knob - the weight is perfect, and the hole is threaded nearly all the way through which shortens the shift a bit. I keep a cotton cloth handy for those too-hot-to-handle days. |

I see cloth so I believe the boot was changed.
It looks great. I'm still debating. I was gonna go with Sparco just cuz its a huge name, but then I looked at their knobs and hurled, they're so bad. |

Keep posting pics! I am going to get a new knob shortly and I want to see which ones look the best. There are just so many options out there. Hard to choose.

On a side note and thread hi-jacking, apologies, can I just screw on any shift knob? Or does it have to be a specfic size for the MS6?

I believe that a majority of the aftermarket knobs come with adapters to allow most applications (at least the 4 I have bought for prior cars have).

This isn't only the Australian M6i shift knob... it's the 6MT shift knob used JDM for the Atenza 23Z (5door sports model). I imagine that some company that imports JDM parts could get it for those whom are interested. I know that mazdaparts.com is really good about getting things, particularly for the RX-8 community... |
