Local guy uploaded this the other night. No idea what's done to it but at least it's a proper thrashing! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/1.gif) |

Why would you do this to your car? WHY? Why wouldn't you do this to your car? You only live once and if you can afford to replace broken parts (or not) then why not? Why buy a performance oriented car and never push it to it's/the drivers limits? It is just a car, they make replacement parts for a reason. Then again people buy cars for different reasons. People like me and Foglems6 (apparently) buy cars to have fun with them and if that means thrashing the shit out of them and using the provided parts to their full advantage, then why not? I broke my rear diff brace in my old MS6 at 9,945 miles and had to pay $900 out of pocket when I was unemployed, but did that stop me from having fun? Hell no, the way I looked at it was I had another 10,000 miles of hard launching ahead of me and I planned to get rid of the car before then anyways, just not in the manner that things went! Does that make me stupid or an asshole? I'm sure, but you know what? I had a LOT of fun with my Speed6, something that can't be said for some members who look down upon us "kids" that beat our cars, do donuts, hard launches, track events, etc etc. A douchebag kid I may be, but I get a lot more enjoyment out of my cars than some others do shifting at 2,000 rpms and never boosting the car for fear of getting less than 25mpg. Well now I don't really know where I'm going with this so [/rant] |

Guys, before anyone gets overly excited over this video and decides to go try it out, please remember : Never, ever, EVER, steer completely to the left or right while doing donuts. That's the best way to blow up your PS pump, could easily cost you $300+ dollars.

Guys, before anyone gets overly excited over this video and decides to go try it out, please remember : Never, ever, EVER, steer completely to the left or right while doing donuts. That's the best way to blow up your PS pump, could easily cost you $300+ dollars. Why is that? I know it sounds like a noob question, but I'm curious as to an answer better than "it just does". It seems like a lot of newer cars have that problem even when doing donuts for a short period of time. For instance my buddy got to borrow Mariah Carey's old 02 SL600 and we did a few donuts in the movie theater parking lot, maybe for 10 seconds or so and the steering pump completely locked up. Other new cars have this problem too, friend of mine blew his PS pump in his 04 Crown Vic doing the same thing...I don't get it. Older cars don't seem to have this problem though. I'm just curious if there's a reason why newer cars seem to hate donuts more than older cars... |
