QUOTE (Ernie @ Nov 5 2009, 09:02 PM) *
Fast forward to this year:
Mazda is sending a modded 2.5 Mazda3 that has an aftermarket turbo.

The dream lives on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

You know what, scratch that:
Last year's exhib was pushing "MazdaSpeed" performance parts . . . and we still have NADA from Mazda . . . Turbo is NOT even a whisper on the wind

I've been a mazda enthusiasts since mx6/probe. Mazda never had an aftermarket outside the rx7s and then the miata. Proteges, MX-3/6's, and now the 3/6 and their mazdaspeed versions. The mazda focus shifted to the MS3 and a mention of the R3 before the RX8 is phased out. I don't see anything changing. The fact that they gave us the MS 3 and 6 was a blessing alone. That's from Mazda. Mazdaspeed is even less. Although the aftermarkets choice selection may stay small because of their marketing strategy, I think it also keeps the company profitable without too many expensive side projects that they don't support for long, like the MP5.

I liked SEMA this year and the size was just right, but the r&d projects for less popular applications are still sluggish due to concerns with the economy. The biggest efforts for a new platform are probably still with the Genesis coupe.

I know I know I know.

Still, would it kill mazda to test some CX-7 swaybars on a M6 to see if it's better and slap a "Mazdaspeed" label on it?

I think it would require an mazdaspeed oil cap. An oil cap and cx7 sway bar to justify a ms version price tag. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/5.gif)

The current economic condition is affecting the market and demand enough to warrant laying low, me thinks.
