First off, don't let other car companies influence your designs. The original 6 sold so well because it looked nothing like the other models in it's class. Bring us the jap spec. Bring us a model of the car that isn't going to blend in with all the other overweight sedans the US sells. I completely understand that you need to open the door to new demographics to sell more cars but you are closing the one to your current fanbase. I'm sure some members on the boards will purchase this horrific excuse for a 6 but most of us will more than likely look other places for our next car. The 6 was the flagship for a brand that brought excitement to the car industry and you did it an injustice by changing the styling to suit the average americans tastes.

My demands for the 6-

-Scrap the NA version and bring us Jap or Euro Spec.
-Bring us the sedan, hatch, and wagon.
-Offer an MTX to be coupled with the V6 (The 2.5 is nice but the real Zoom Zoom was always in the S.)
-Listen to the people who have been excited about these cars since day 1. I see alot of older men and women driving 6's, you had the demographic before you went and messed up the car.

Anything else I forgot. I'll see if I can find an e-mail address for someone at corporate later. I saw this coming ever since they told us that the NA version would be slightly different than the Jap. I'm just really dissapointed.

I know, but there isn't much that could have been done before the car was released. I mean honestly the car is not that ugly, it's just does not convey the same ideals I believe the first series of 6's did. There were no concrete details before today. Announcing that there will be no MTX on the V6 is a much bigger punch then speculation. I just feel like Mazda settled on playing to the car buying crowd that backs the Camry and Accord instead of the one that supported their initial revitilization. The car is not what we wanted and I don't expect them to change it but at least consider bringing over some version that makes us excited about the brand again. Bring a hatch, or a wagon. Release an MTX V6 in 2010 or bring the new Speed6 early, something to appease a fan base that has supported them since the begining. This bland heavy sedan they are dumping on our shores just seems like such a waste.

Maybe they plan to appease us with a Mazda 6 coupe in the future, but right now I believe there is a mass of drivers who are dissapointed.

I see the 6 going the way of BMW 5 series, and the Mazda 3 moving up to fill that niche like the way the 3 series did for BMW.

Completely agreed. You succeed by developing your own market, being true to yourself and organically growing your niche. All chasing the Accord and Camry does is give buyers more incentive to buy the Accord and Camry.

If you wish to offer a larger and more luxurious model, bring out a separate Mazda9 product rather than changing the Mazda6 in ways that threaten what made the car so wonderful and special in the first place.

Remember your ad campaign where people looked at themselves in the Accord and Camry and withered into their 50's? Guess what, you've just done it too.

Its simple fixes to keep us owners happy and buying Mazda's for years to come.

Personally, I originally wanted a V6/mtx/hatch. None in stock and poor rear seat headroom. I was hoping the headroom would be fixed in the new model, making a great option for my next car. Mazda could sell more hatches if dealers would stock them!
