they did it for the 6 and 3 why not the miata or rx-8? IMO the only thing missing from the rx-8 vs rx-7 aside from the OMG sexy factor, is the TT option the gen3's had. now a TT rx-8 with upgraded LSD and a few other goodies IMO would be nice. anyone else wish they'd make a speed rx-8?

i wish they would. the renisis is based off the 13b motor in previous rx-7's. and those motors hummed right along with a turbo tossed in.

They did do it for the miata in 04-05 but it was verry unimpressive IMO

1.8L Turbo 178HP, 166lb-ft of torque

The 06 has 170hp, 140lf-ft torque with non turbo(i think)

right and if they droped a TT setup into an RX-8 it could have a bit of hp. say the tt setup added 120hp you'rea talking 350hp. i'd enjoy that

Mazda will be releasing a MazdaSpeed Miata probably within the next 6 months.

Rumor has it a MazdaSpeed RX-8 will make it around the 2008-2009MY just before the car is redesigned. Normal for Mazda. But with all the problems that the RX-8 is having, who knows if they'll push the current Renesis with FI. They might just put the next-gen direct-injected Renesis into the current-gen body. Wouldn't be a huge powerboost without FI or some sort, but would be a fair bit, and low-boost FI would always be an option. Direct injection is much more beneficial in a rotary than a piston-engine. With a low-boost supercharger application you'd be looking at probably 300hp.

Mazdaspeed cars are meant to be turboed... so I hope they follow that pattern...

I don't think you are going to see another Mazdaspeed Miata any time soon however...

If they make a true Mazdaspeed RX8 with boost... my Speed6 is gone

i'm just thinking how easily they could make it 350/320 or close to that with ease. do a full exhaust if they did that and you're talking a lot of power.
