I love my 6 SW, though my wife is a bit upset with me purchasing it. We have two kids, she has an 02 Camry, which she uses daily (with the kids.)
Her complaint is that she has no room to bring an additional friend and parent. She was hoping I would purchase an SUV or Minivan, something that would seat at least 7 or better. Unfortunately, due to Child Safety Seat laws, it is almost impossible to fit three kids in the back seat of a car. When I was a kid (not that long ago) my seat was the cargo area of the family wagon, my three older sisters had the back seat. Wouldn't it be great if more wagons had fold down booster seats in the cargo area? I know some have fold out floor seats, like the Taurus and others, but you still need a kids seat to make them legal. I would like to see small boosters built into the rear seat backs that kids can pull down and buckle into. Lickety split. "Johnny get in the back and buckle up!" I don't care that they wouldn't be comfortable, small kids don't either, as long as they have the cool space in the back. I know the safety concerns, yada yada yada, but I then I don't believe kids should be made to wear bike helmets either. I know, I'm a neanderthal, but visit Taiwan and watch entire families on scooters zipping in and out of traffic (mom, 5 year old behind her, 3 year old standing between her legs and infant on her knee.) Now that's laughing at danger! |
