Window tint in the Chicago area

Im getting my windows re-tinted tomorrow due to the first time starting to bubble from poor adhesion (bad batch of film)

I am 32 with 2 kids and dont need to get pulled over or get much attention from the cops. But I need tint on my car for my baby son becasue the sun is always blinfding him in his rear facing seat.

In IL we can have any tint in back and ZERO tint on the front driver and passenger windows.

So my dillema is, what do I go with? 35% rear 50% front? 50% all around to be safe or 35% all around to push my luck?

Help me out!! Post pics too. I had another thread for posting tint pics but didnt get many examples.

ive been getting pulled over quite a bit myself. i think that 35% rear and 50% front is ideal. thats what im going to end up doing next month.

edit: i currently have 35% front and 5% rear and theyre pretty dark. heres the best pic i have right now.

Your car looks great!! I think the 5% rears make your 35% up front look dark.

I talked to my tint guy and he said to be safe he can do 35% rears and 45% on the front and there wont be a big difference in contrast with only 10% darkness difference.

thanks! yea im sure the 5% in back makes the front look darker but just to be on the safe side i still want to do 35% rear and 50% front. whos your tint guy??

Ive decided to do 35% rear and 45% fronts, Ill snap pics tomorrow after it gets done. I found this guy through a few other forums and he was highly recommended by a lot of people. are you in Chicago or in the burbs? I moved from the burbs to the city with my tints 25% all around and received 4 tickets within the first 2 weeks that I moved.

Damn, Im in Naperville. What time of day are you getting rolled? Also how much are your tickets for? Thats why I want to fly somewhat under the radar with the light tint all around. I had it on my last car and didnt get pulled over in 3 years that I owned the car (knock on wood)

rockford here. and there hardcore uptight about tint, and like to impound car's because of it.

i pushed the limits, and did 10% rear, and 30% front. pretty happy with it. but from the 2nd i picked it up, i regretted not going all the way with 5% in the rear.






they look alot darker in the pic's. in the day time, you can still see through both rear windows. the pic in my sig shows a bit more of a realistic view of how they look.

I got 20% all around. I used to get pulled over about once a month but then got a note from my dr. saying I needed them for my eyes, which I really don't. Haven't got pulled over yet since I got the note. Personally I like the same shade all around.

if you have beige interior. go with 20%
if you have black interior. go with 35%
heres my car with 35% all around + black interior. looks very dark even in the daytime. not having a moonroof helps.
