I have 900 miles on my Sport and I have been getting a THUD sound, come to a complete stop- neutral , clutch in ,shift into first and a muffled thud. Sometimes it won't even go into first.
The same is happening with 2013 skyactiv 3 6mt.
Someone on their forum discovered

Quote:

After you depress the clutch to go into first gear from a stop wait one second to push the gear shift into 1st gear. Try and see . Idid that today and NO THUD. If I don't wait that extra second or 2 after pushing in the clutch I get a thud.

Is anyone else experiencing this in their 2014 6MT? I am gonna make an appointment and talked to the service guy. I asked the sales guy and he said it was skyactiv tech engaging.

I have been searching for one for nearly a year..!
I even contacted my local Mazda dealership and asked how much for a copy and I got laughed off the phone! He stated that I had more chance of driving to the moon than getting a copy.
Love my car but I'd like to know a bit more about all the gizmos in it please!
Any help would be gratefully received.....

Taking apart the command switch in center console

Well my wife accidently dumped her sweet tea all over the commander switch. Needless to say the buttons became so sticky that they seized up and...

Well my wife accidently dumped her sweet tea all over the commander switch. Needless to say the buttons became so sticky that they seized up and rendered the whole switching unit useless. I'm sure this situation is going to happen many times considering that it is located directly in front of the cup holder. I was unsure if the whole switch was fried or not so I set about trying to tear into it knowing that I may have to replace the whole thing anyway. Here is how it went.
1. Unsnap and unzip the boot on the E-brake.

2. Open the center console and just about the two outlets are slots to slide a flat head screw driver. Gently pry up and the center cover will start to come up.

3. Slowly work your way to the front by gently pulling up on either side. There are four tabs on each side

4. When you get to sides to release, be sure to not pull up to far. There is one final clip that attaches to the plastic trim piece around the shifter. Push down on the center of the shifter trip piece while gently pulling up on the center cover and it should release. I think I snapped my clip a little but it still locked back in nicely when I put it back together.

5. Reach in under the cover and remove the wire harness. there is a release on the plug that faces the drivers side...just push in on it and gently pull the plug away from the center piece. The whole center piece should come right off now.

6. Flip the center piece over. Locate and remove 4 Phillips head screws to pull the command switch out. Be extremely gentle with the tabs that hold this thing in place. I broke off two of the tabs later on in my adventure.

7. Now remove the seven small screws from the bottom of the switch to separate the components.

There is a rubber piece that helped protect the computer board. The whole issue turned out to be iced tea on the buttons themselves. No damage done to the board.

8. Gently remove the plug from the board

9. With a very thin object, gently pop off the blank pieces on either side of the switch. This allows for removal on the center buttons on either side. The corner buttons are on there good. I ended up pushing them out from the backside. Be very careful as this was how I broke off the tabs that holds the switch to the center console.

Clean everything up and put it back together :) Just be careful around the selector knob. I never did get that stupid thing to come out so do not what would happen if it got any liquid in it...it may have already and we got lucky! When I put it all back together, I found that if I turned the tabs that I broke off the right way, they could be used as washers lol

I hope this helps someone.

Modded or not, any info would be greatly appreciated (as long as you state which mods you have done, if any).

I'd like to get a basic idea of the 2.5's stock whp. I'm currently running a 2.5" axle back Mevius exhaust with the K&N sri and I'm curious as to what whp and hp increases I got. I wouldn't be betting on anything above 8hp over stock at most.

I know K&N has a graph, but I am skeptical about marketed data. Here is their chart showing stock and after their intake.

Hi all, I'm hoping to get some help, my car, a 2011 comes with the "auto" mode only for the drivers side window, some time ago I rode in my friends 09 and his had the "auto" mode on both the drivers and passenger window so I decided it'd be a nice mod to get a master switch with this option so I went and bought one on ebay off the wreckers, last weekend I tried to install it and when I plug this thing in the car went nuts, all the lights on the dash came on without the key even being in! then I started the car and when I tried to shut the car off it didn't, I was able to take the key completely off the ignition and the car kept running so I disconnected this thing and put the old one back but to my surprise now the "auto" mode for the drivers side window doesn't work either! fml !!

My questions are, is there a way to make the car recognize this thing or can it be program into the car options? Also, how do I get the "auto" mode to work back on my window?

Just so you know, I tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and all that with the same results.

Thanks in advance.

2004 repeated brake problems

My 2004 Mazda6 didn't have any real brake problems until 2009. At about 130,000 miles I had the rear brakes redone - I remember new calipers,...

My 2004 Mazda6 didn't have any real brake problems until 2009. At about 130,000 miles I had the rear brakes redone - I remember new calipers, rotors, the works. A year later I had to have the front brakes done. Then in 2011 it was time for the rear brakes again, and 2012 I had the fronts done again. Today I had a complete caliper replaced on my left rear because two days ago it started locking up on me.

I trust my mechanics - they are the kind that everyone should have. But something isn't right. Why are my brakes going bad every other year? One time they were able to warranty out the calipers, but this is a real pain! At 172,000 miles I figured I should easily get another 30 - 40,000 miles out of this car because it seems fine other than the brakes (Yes, I've had to do stuff like the AC compressor, but ...)

Any ideas would be appreciated! I'll take the ideas to my mechanics and they'll listen.

Thanks,
Craig

i got my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday, i was doped up and my fiance drove me home.

about 1-2 miles from my house the traction control turned on, and the car became lethargic, it also began to make a light ticking sound ( like a plastic panel flapping.

she put the car in neutral and coasted home the last few hundred yards, as soon as the car was put in neutral it stalled out. when we got home we turned the key, the car would not start

today i looked at it, it was out of coolant, the hose came off the thermostat housing. the car still would not start, i checked engine codes, nothing but the code for my CAI.

i unhooked the positive terminal for 10 minutes and reattached, the car still wont start ( i figured maybe it was in safety mode)

i removed the belt to check and see if maybe the water pump was seized up from lack of coolant, it was not, nor were any pullies, i also tried to start the car without the belt just to check, and still nothing.

im pretty worried, i am a pretty serious handyman mechanic, but im not sure where to go from here
