As my overall MS6 project begins to fizzle out, I'm ensnaring on something new.

I have had this pickup for a couple years now, and have done virtually nothing to it, save for some new tires. I drive it around quite frequently. I love it dearly. It was originally purchased July, 1972 by my great uncle, who then commissioned it for use as a work horse on his ranch here in Texas.
It was used to pull horse trailers, haul hay, dirt, etc. for the first 10-15 years of its life, or so.
It later retired to a country home, where it stayed covered under a car port for a number of years, still being used now and then for driving to town and such. Even made a few trips out of state, pulling a travel trailer.
After my great uncle died, it went to my grandfather. At that time, it was being parked outdoors, on the street, and driven around by my grandfather who used it for typical pickup truck uses. Fast forward another decade and a half and it came into my possession, as my grandfather has lost some vision in one of his eyes and can no longer drive safely. I have been riding around in this truck since I was a child. My great uncle drove me around in it when I went to visit him and my great aunt at their home in the countryside. My grandfather use to pick me up in it from school when I was a kid. I have always loved it.

In the two years I have had it, it has been garage kept. The Texas sun and rain has played a number on the paint and interior. And the windshield's seal is compromised in a couple places and leaks water. I decided to keep it out of the elements for now, to prevent more damage.

My overall plan is to restore it fully, to the way it was when new. But, the task is very lengthy, costly and daunting. I don't even know where to begin, honestly. It will take me many years, I am sure.

Everything is original. Has 113,000 original miles. It's 2WD, has a 350ci with the original Rochester Quadrajet 4bbl carb., 350 turbo hydromatic tranny, and a 12 bolt rear end. Not sure what gears are in it, but it's wound like a top at about 60 mph.

I'll get it started with a couple pictures:

Here is what it looked like when I got it:

Here it is today:

Here's its dirty interior:

2005, mazda6, 3.0 6sp automatic.
Thought it was rear main seal, took it to stealer. They dropped trans and turns out it was trans seal leaking. Fluid was black. Trans was working great. No problems. I had them replace the seal. Double flush the trans. They test drove the car and it poured fluid. Dealer said trans is trashed! Really trashed? I question that....Any ideas?

Where to buy a bullit proof trans if i have to?

Thanks for your time!!

Alright, I know this thread has been beat to DEATH, but I have a real quick specific question.

After looking at AEM, Injen, Fujita, Weapon R, and Mazdaspeed Im pretty sure Ive come to a decision. Im pretty sure I want a SRI just for the fact that the car sees considerable water at speed and I dont want to take any chances. CEL's wont be an issue as I will be running a MAFci.

Mazdaspeed gets crossed off the list because its just marked up AEM or Injen, cant remember which.

Injen only makes a CAI so I dont want that.

The Fujita looks SOOO NICE, but its a CAI so no go.

AEM SRI is a total POS in my opinion. Still uses the factory accordion hose? Seriously? AEM better be PAYING people to take those pieces of junk.

So it comes down to Weapon R. The price is right and it's an SRI that locates the filter exactly where I want it, and it is aluminum from the TB to the filter. Only one issue- I dont like the foam filter. Anyone know if I can just grab any 2.75" or 3" K&N and throw it on there? Or is there some special kind of flange on there? That's all I'm trying to figure out here, since it's tough to tell from the pics.

I guess while I'm at it- anyone here running a Weapon R with a MAFci? How are the gains compared to the CP-e and other intakes?

At this point, I tried taking the hot lead from the turn signal, splicing into it, and running another wire to the ground on the sidemarker, or atleast, what I thought was the ground. I turned my lights on and the side markers wouldn't even turn on. I took everything out and returned it to normal, and they turned back on. I used a multi meter on the two wires(black and red) that run to the side marker, and got 12v on the red, and nothing on the black, meaning the black is ground right? That's what I thought. I'm not sure if this is possible without a relay.

Any ideas?

I apologize in advance I know this is not the right place to post items for sale, but I can't seem to figure out why I can't post in the Buy/Sell Forum, I've been a member since 2007 and I'm pretty sure I was able to post once there before, and I've asked moderators about this as well, I haven't got any response. I get an error saying I don't have permission to access the page..

Anyone have any idea what I need to do to be allowed to post my personal Mazda6 parts for sale?

any help is appreciated!!
Thanks again!

Hi guys, just wanted to ask if their are any side effects on putting a cold air intake on my high mileage 6i 2.3L. I'm thinking of putting the intakes being sold on ebay for $60. The car has about 90000km. Any input on this would be helpful towards the purchase on the intake.

Hey all!

Been around the website for a few months now just reading and gathering information. I picked up a 2010 Mazda 6 GT (2.5L) with navi and the works back in later months of 2010. So far it's been great and I've had a blast driving it around (work, trips, etc).

I haven't really modded it, as it's my daily and I haven't really had much time. I have tinted the windows, and installed some 20" CX9 rims - surprising the ride quality of the wheels isn't much different from the stock 18's. Also, as far as I can tell, the fuel hasn't been affected either - good bonus!

Anyways, looking forward to talking with you all on the forums!

Cheers,
