Hey there!
So recently someone decided to pull a hit and run on my car in the parking lot ( I wad parked in the very far corner spot with free spots waaaay closer and someone still managed to fuck up and smash my car) Anyways my headlight unit is done and I got a crack in the bumper (thanks mystery douchbag -.-" ) Anyways OEM replacement are too expensive for me and I found the TYC ones on amazon, I was wondering what you guys think and know abour those. Fittment issues? Are they plug and play? How do they look in person? I did search and I found a little info but not enough to make me 100% sure to buy em! Any help is appreciated! Just like you said, those are not Oem quality, but they are second best. Much better compared to any other 'super dope halo Audi led strip headlights' that you'll find everywhere else, especially eBay. Stay clear from those...there are a few threads on the TYC headlights that I can recall just off the top of my head from reading...search harder lol.

They are plug and play. At most you'll need bulbs from the stockers
tapatalking.. err wait.

After having my driver's side headlight assembly busted by an autozone employee, I had them order a replacement part. I assumed they would go OEM. I assumed wrong. I received a TYC replacement (so noted by the all too subtle TYC branding on the package). As for the assembly, fitment was fine. If it gets jammed up, make sure there’s no residual plastic or something in one of the hangar arms and such. All of the wiring is plug and play, with a few fastening clips. The plastic to make the lens of the assembly felt a bit less durable than oem and it’s been noted in previous post that they may have a tendency to fog faster than oem. IIRC others mentioned that around about a year or so they could start to see hazy spots. Regular cleaning and or plastic headlight protector films may resolve this problem. I’ve had my TYC for around about 8 months and no haze so far. The only thing I have noticed is sometimes when it’s raining if I look at the housing head on, I can see condensation form inside. Interestingly enough, the condensation appears to match the haze pattern on my oem passenger headlight lens (which I’ve come to determine is also on the inside) most likely a result of a poor or blown seal. This is a minor problem, easily fixed by baking and resealing the assembly.
Good luck. |

That is correct. On the backside of the assembly you will see twist off cap things. After removing them you will see the wires and bulb harnesses on the inside. Take the bulbs from the old assembly and match them with their corresponding harnesses.
