Default 55w HID problems?

Anyone have any problems with the DDM tuning 55w 6k kit in the halogen housings? Bougjt a 35w kit from them that i havent gotten around to installing yet. I want bright but dont wanna ruin my housings. Any advice would be appreciated. Originally bought the 35w for thelows, but previously seeing the diff between 35w and 55w 6k bulbs in person on a different vehicle, i really wanna op for the 55w. Thanks.

Some people have had to need to run the wiring harness for the 55w just to ensure it is getting proper power, but besides that not really anything out of the ordinary.

I don't see how/why they'd ruin your housings?

I think he's worried about heat, my 35w kit runs cooler than my stock halogens, halogens are hot especially if you're brave/stupid enough to run the higher wattage bulbs, which are illegal except offroad of course. Not for certain but I would think the 55w are about the same temp as the 35w, or atleast not as hot as halogen. Someone chime in with a 55w kit I could be wrong...

55W definitely run hotter than 35W. You'll be fine running them though.

You should be OK with 55W.
I installed them with slim ballasts, as no space to mount big ballasts, and have been very happy with them.

Thanks for that clarification man. I was just worried about the possibility of melting my housings.
