Default Pulled over for HID's

So I have had my 8000k HID's in my car for about 4 weeks now and I really like the way they look. Tonight however, a local 5.0 had another opinion. After a stressful drive on the turnpike and Parkway, I finally reach my home town in North Jersey where the cops are over payed and bored as all heck cause nothing happens. He spots my lights and hooks a U-ey and pulls me over.

Cop: So whats up with the head lights?
Me: Is something wrong? Did one go out?
Cop: They are blue.
Me: Is that illegal? There was no disclaimer on the package.
Cop: Well blue is not allowed. Are these stock?
Me: No, Aftermarket and I just got them
Cop: License and Reg Please

He scans over my license and recalls going to HS with my sister and goes back to his cruiser to run my info.

I ask if he wants my military clearance cards too since I prob have more clearance than this fool ever will and he just denies me cause I look young and I'm in the 6.

He gives me my ID and says to have a good night. No ticket, no warning, just a friendly interrogation that I should change my lights.

What a doofus. Urg local PD frustrate me. Protect and Serve my Butt!

At least he was cool enough to issue just a verbal warning and not a ticket. I'm sure you realized you ran the risk of being hassled with 8000k hids.

For 8,000K? I personally don't like anything above 6K, or even 5K actually for that matter. But 8K? I'm sure there are plenty of other people he can pull over with really really blue crap in their lights.

Perhaps he caught the glare or something. I would make sure they're aimed correctly.

Wow, that's rough. Although we're all Massholes up here, the cops don't seem to even care enough to pull people over even if it's obvious. I see kids driving around with fluorescent purple or bright green, almost feel like pulling them over myself for being so rice

LOL, it's not the cops fault you have ricer HIDS..

And this people is why we do not go over 6k, because then you will start running into problems with your local po-po.

Be happy you didn't get a fix it ticket.

depends entirely on the state your in.

ive had my 12,000k's for like 4 years now in my 6. there perfectly legal here in IL. but i did get pulled over in michigan for them 2 years ago. but as soon as the cop realized i had a IL license. and then noticed my plates were a IL police plate, and not a michigan one. he apologized and let me go without even running my name.

i do run 6,000k's in my daily driver 626 though. just because i dont need anything that brings any attention to it.
