Hey Guys,
Well, it seems like everyone prefers the Angel Eyes for headlight customization, but I had another idea. I've always like the LEDs on the latest Audi's, and surely, that's where the idea came from. Im not sure if anyone here has done such thing, but here's my pics anyway. <div align='center'> ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tell me what you think guys. Johne. |

Yea its been tried. Its a hit or miss. IMO it doesn't work, even if you do the install inside the bezel. My only gripe is the daytime viewing. It looks tacky IMO, but others may disagree. Heck I even put the same led strips under the eyelids. Looks cool, but I changed that and put the led strips to behind the badgeless grille. Check my garage and cardomain in my sig for pics.
Bottom line, if you see the LED strip its not great looking IMO. Don't get me wrong, I love LEDs, I have the tails and interiors done up lol...but for the exterior, appearance wise, it's not my cup of tea. As I always said, beauty is in the eye of the 6 owner....if you like it, thats all that matters, no?

all these fake "audi" lights are always done wrong. people always gets lights that are too tiny and too close to each other. they end up looking like you put in x-mas lights in your headlights. take a closer look at the audi leds, they are bolder, and wider apart. ie; a4 has smaller/closer knitted leds than the a5, and the r8 has the boldest, and widest set leds in the entire audi lineup. i mean if you are going to attempt to copy something, do some research first please.
heres something for starters: http://www.carbodydesign.com/archive/2008/...i-light-design/ but in my opinion, no car can pull this off except an audi. you have to remember that these headlights are actually designed to incorporate the led strip element. in all these DIY audi lights ive seen, the placement is pretty awkward, and isnt cohesive with anything in the headlights. it ends up looking weird and forced.

I really like it, i wanted to do it to my car too, but i really want it to be like the audis, dont get me wrong, i like yours, and would like you to tell me how you did them, but if i could do them like the audis id do it in a heartbeat.
And IMO the way you have them in the corner should go the other way, towards the outside of the car, not towards the grille, but all in all very nice. Id do it with halos and that too. Could you post pics of your wireing and how you did that in case i do it to mine?

Well, firstly, you have to seperate the headlight's cover from the actual assembly (on which you can find somewhere in this forum), then glue the LEDs on how you want them to be, then rewire it with your parking lights.
I would of tried doing how the Audi's are like, with gaps in between every 1-3 LEDs or so, although I didnt have much time, since I was only in Virginia for a week. This is not my car by the way, it's my GFs. She liked them, so Im happy for that. Thanks, Johne. |

I like 'em Johne. My only complaint would be that they look too bright at night time which goes back to what someone was saying about the spacing. I like the pattern you used though with the inner turn in the headlight.
