I don't like the looks of the tall M6 antenna, and was wondering if the CX7(shorter) antenna has the same threads? I mean I know there are some aftermarket choices, but if there is a shorter OEM antenna that will work I think that would be the way to go.

TIA, Jason.

just go with an aftermarket stubby antenna or a sharkfin antenna, they look better and are probably cheaper.

The antenna threads seem to be pretty standard sized, though some of the aftermarket antennas may have too long or too short threadwise. I'm pretty sure the CX-7 antenna will fit, though just check with your local Mazda dealer just in case; maybe they can unscrew one of a car on their lot and test fit it.

I'm actually using an Acura RDX antenna mast myself (on a 3); same look, fit, and OEM quality as the CX-7 antenna, but about half the price. So perhaps you should drop in your local Acura dealer first...

I don't think so, since the car in the attached photo is a regular 6.

IMO RECEPTION HAS BEEN BETTER SINCE I PUT THE CX-7 ANTENNA ON MY 6. USED TO GET ALOT MORE STATIC WITH MY OE ANTENNA THAT IM NOT GETTING NOW.
