My Jan 03 2.0 TS (25,000 miles) is going into the Mazda dealer this week to get new front discs and pads (under warranty) and a minor mod to the Power Steering to stop a slight knock when turning. Has anybody else had warped front discs ?

You better don't screw around with those nuts.

The discs and pads have now been replaced and the brakes are a lot better, the discs are held onto the hub with two small set screws.

How can you tell if you have warping brakes?

Press the brake pedal gently and feel the steering wheel wobble in your hands

35000 miles and they're fine so far - I've no idea of the wear level, but looking through there's still a good way to go before they wear out. The rotors are wearing a bit as well - I feel a set of performance rotors & pads coming on before too long, hopefully before my next Nurburgring trip. Time to start finding out what the options are in this country - I hate paying import taxes etc...
