Ok,
My car is a 2003 mazda 6s 168k miles. I've replaced the spark plugs, EGR valve, throttle body and MAF sensors. Before I replaced all of these parts I was getting a misfire on cylinder #3. I figured by replacing the EGR valve throttle boy and spark plugs that the sluggish acceleration would go away.... but it has not.. Does anyone have any ideas what else could be causing this? my next idea is to change the coil-over plugs... I'm running out of ideas what could be causing these random misfires.. There also is a small rattling noise on the valve train closest to the firewall- cylinders 1-3. Diagnoistic- we pulled the valve cover off and inspected the valve train area- there was no apparent breakage or excessive wearing. CAM lobs look brand new. I need some help solving this rattling noise and po300 errors. thanks in advance for your input. -myles |

I think P0300 code and the rattling noise go together as that code is random misfire code, not sure but I would try replacing the coils if possible, it's already got 163K anyway. The car deserves it.
Anybody else got input for him?????
