The owner of a brand new Mazda 6S was kind enough to drop off his vehicle while so that we could take some measurements. We went ahead and grabbed digital information for a cold air intake, catback exhaust, and lower engine mount. I've been working on the intake first, and I wanted to post some models of what we've got so far based on the measurements we took.

This is a screen shot of the CAD model we have for the cold air intake. We've chosen to go with an airbox as opposed to sticking the filter in the fender this time around. We've learned that most of our customers prefer a shorter intake that doesn't protrude into the fender, and we're listening. The airbox also has provisions for the factory air scoop at the front of the car, so you can keep that if you like it. By the way, the intake is going to be a full 3-inches but /will not/ require a MAFci box in order to function properly, and with that said I think we can bring the cost down compared to the MAFci systems considerably.

We're creating a prototype so that we can run some tests on our dyno, but we've got to wait for the 6S to come back around our way. Before anyone asks, we have no finalized price or ETA on the part because we can only work on this project while we have a the 6S at our facility, which unfortunately isn't on a consistent basis. So when we make further progress I'll be happy to share. If anyone has any questions about the functionality or logistics of the intake please do chime in.

What the?!

Are the 6S guys asleep or something? I'll see if we can't change gears and make a 6i upgrade first since there doesn't seem to be much excitement over the V6 intake

Thats awesome to hear! I know there are many more 4cyl owners on these forums than V6. And were all thirsty for more power haha.
