Drove home in the rain first time since getting my 2010. The AUTO wipers are terrible. No matter where I set the sensitivity, as soon as they start, they run continuous. I'm finding I have to shut then off and turn them back on. Windshield can become wet then they start (like I assume they should), but once they clear it they should stop. Mine keep running with about a 1 second delay.

Anyone else have this problem ?? It will be the first thing on the list when it goes in for service.

Thanks much !!!!!

Why not just run the wipers the regular way.

The delay doesn't seem too long, although auto wipers in any car I or my family have owned have never been that intelligent.

The only time I had a problem was when it was misting. They seemed to run more often than I would have done so manually hitting the mist function. I have been pretty happy with them so far.

Yeah mine run that way occasionally too, I would prefer the manually set delay over the auto rain sensor mode.
They can be funny to watch sometimes though, I'll have the sesitivity set in the middle to lower setting and they'll be working fine,
next thing you know they are flying in hyper fast mode lol.
Most often a reset will take care of it.

I have the same problem. How you reset the wiper? You mean turn it off and then turn back on?

Yep, I just turn'em off for a few seconds and turn them back on.
I find they freak out like that once in a while when it's a 'misty' type of rain, not a steady rain.

I've got the autos in my car otoo and have found them nothing but awesome, but just my personal experience. I second the misting though when you need to turn them on and off. the only problem and possibly solution I have for you is right after the first wash I took it to and then rained I had them set to auto and WOW they were off to the races. I didn't understand what was going on so I just used them manually until I got home. I looked around and realised when I cleaned my dash the eye which is down on the front corner of your dash was water spotted from the cleaner I used. Never even thought of it but because it was a "green" water based spray cleaner to clean your car (works really well btw, always asked them what it is but they somehow magically forget what it's called) it spotted just a tiny bit but enough too make a man crazy. check that out and see if it helps at all.

BTW, ditch the stock wiper blades for something like the Rain-X Latitude wiper blades.
