So I am trying to remove my HID bulbs to swap them with a set from an Infiniti, unless someone knows a cheaper way to get brighter lights.
Anyways, any know a good how-to on how to remove the headlights on an 09 6? Thank You |

Lenses matter almost as much as the actual bulb. Retrofits are a huge PITA though.
What's wrong with the stock HIDs? I'm pretty happy with mine. I may swap my high beams for night-breakers or something similar though.

If you have the stock 4300k bulbs, you wont get brighter. I was bored last night so I decided to take out the 6000k bulbs I had in there
and replace them with the stockers, a little more light on the road with the 4300's. But more of a yellowish light. If you're looking for more of a white light with a blue hue to it I would recommend the 6000k bulb, or 5000k for more white and a slightly less blue hue to it. I'm trying out 5000's next. Now to get at the bulbs you need to take the wheels off and then remove about 8 or 10 push clips on the plastic inner fender wheel well. After that take off the 2 outer screws closest to the corner (underneath the front end) Pull back the plastic inside the wheel well and you now have access to the bulb covers. Should be about an hr or less taking your time. Jack stands for safety! |

You can't turn the wheel, pull back the splashguard and just reach back there??

Well after doing my research, I learned that what I really need is 55w bulbs instead of a different type.. I just wanted brighter headlights for those rainy days. I also didnt know that the oem bulbs were 4300...I thought they were 5 or 6k.... Guess I was wrong.
Now just to find a way to acquire them without spending a fortune. Thanks |

the 6 has projectors, so you don't need to retrofit it. You just need to buy H7 HID kit and put it there. You will get almost exactly the same cutout and result for $100.
I plan to upgrade to HID next spring. I would like to get soe info about the install, is it necessary to remove the front wheels? or just turning the wheels is enough space?

I think if one has a slightly slender arm/hand and some patients you could probably do it that way, a bit snug but it would save some time for sure. Your 6 looks great with those EXE springs by the way. |
