Thumbs down

Ok here is the deal.

I got LED turn signals for the front and back. I installed them to realize that the front ones don't blink at all and the back ones blink rapidly.... So, I installed (2) 3 ohm load equalizers on the very back wires for the back turn signals, and now the back ones work just fine, but still the front ones won't work at all. not even the rapid blinking. What the flip is wrong with them? I thought the 3 ohm equalizer would make it so both front and back on one side would work? Is it that the wiring where I installed the equalizers on (directly off of the back turn signals) has nothing to do with the front turn signals at all? Should I have installed these things somewhere else? Or is my situation hopeless and I am going to have to live with the stupid amber color for the turn signals in the front?

PS: I tested the bulbs by themselves, and the bulbs while they are in the sockets and they work just fine (with an inverter). It's just while they are in the car that they don't work.

I heard that resistors need to be on each led for it to work, but not a 100%. Sorry.

Make sure the LEDs are round the right way in the socket you put each one in to.
They are "diodes" which only let current pass one way.

failing that, put a voltmeter across the turn signal pins and make sure you are getting some voltage pulse when you put the indicator on.

if not, there may be a fuse (not checked) for the front bulbs???
although i would expect only one relay to do ALL bulbs.

Alan.

the fuses are good. The stock blinker works so i figure that its just the wiring on the blinkers. Can someone tell me how to get the headlight housing out?

Take the front bumper off. Should be a how to in the headlight install thread (tho its not needed just for headlights), but its pretty self-explanatory. Clips on the top, screws on the bottom, clips in the fender wells. Take a bunch of pics of any solution you find - I have a ton of LEDs lying around and am thinking about doing this.

haven't quite gotten around to it, but my HID's are here on monday so ill be pulling everything apart to install those. However ill take a look in there and report anything i find to you guys. I gave up on the led blinkers for a couple reasons. 1: they were not working in the front ( the back ones worked with load resistors ) and 2: in direct sun they were hardly visible being white and all. However I got some super white halogen bulbs from autolumination and they look great so im sticking with those.
