Hi

I have just put on a trailer hookup and would like to mount a 6" kabel from the battery and all the way to the plug in the back.
My problem is how do I get is in through the the front end of the cabin wall. The old Mazda 6 was easy but I can't find a hole anywhere.

ANY IDEERS ??

Christian..

Hi,

On a new mazda6 the OEM harness passes under the steering wheel shaft.
You have to look somewhere above pedals and you will see a rubber thing thru which
the harness goes. You can also see it enter engine compartment somewhere around the
battery, but a bit lower. It's hard to see w/o removing the battery, but possible.

When I mounted an audio amplifier, I couldn't however complete this task myself, so
I asked a couple of tech guys to help me. They did it together, using a flash-light and some lubrication
and it wasn't easy for them either. To not damage OEM harness, it would be a good idea to make
an extra hole in the rubber thing somewhere above OEM harness and use it. That's how they did it.

If you remove the battery, I think you can do it withouth a little help from your friends. I was
just a bit lazy.

Find enclosed a picture from OEM manual for parking aid installation (that's the only tech manual
I have for Mazda6 2 gen).

Regards from Russia!

p.s. a little humour from here: I read this in a Russian forum which I am a member of, so the guy
who was installing his parking aid thing wrote: I made a hole in the rubber ring above the harness
as the picture suggests - with a knife.
