Just wondering if anyone is following all the news with the economy and it's impact on top level racing

....no more Honda in F1
....Audi from ALMS
....Suzuki from WRC

and then today i hear Subaru pulled out of WRC!

Given, these things are temporary i'm sure to some extent....but the last 4 weeks haven't been very pretty. World Challenge over here has changed rules to make it cheaper to compete, WRC has just gone through the new Spec classing to make things cheaper even F1 is talking (if not confirmed) using spec engines from Cosworth to keep costs down for those teams....next 2-3 season's will be interesting, i dobt exciting, but interesting.

that's all

Spec engines in F1 off the table after teams agreed to other cost saving measures. Toyota cutting costs but staying in F1. NASCAR... oh who cares. Any word on what Mazda is running in WC next year?

Nary a peep lads. The Tri-Point folks have sold (at least 2) of their 6's, and the third car is still up for rental/sale for next season. No word from Tindol, and Horton was selling their 6 as well.

The only logical conclusion I can jump to is either the 3 or the Speed3. Given the different prep rules for '09, me thinks they'll be using 3's.

Though somebody suggested using Mazda 5's or B3000 pickups :P

2010 Mazda 3's and Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development budget has been slashed and Espenlaub, Galati, Herr and Daniels have not been signed as factor drivers as well. Looks like Grand Am is the ticket!
