I did the course wrong the first 5 times Best run was 0:53, I would have been competitive in the 0:50 range. A 2003ish BMW 325i cranked out a 0:51, I road with hime and it very different, very smooth when transistioning through the slalom, vs the MS6's lurching.

Any Critues? I need to work on being more fluid with the throttle for sure, and I was braking too early...

tires play a huge roll. what r u running? i try not to over drive the car into corners cause that will just fuck up your entry for the next turn and the next one. and tell your camera man dont zoom in that much or use a tripod. way way to much camera shake it makess it unbearable to watch

First off---did you walk the course? If you did, do it more next time. If you didn't...then please do it next time, hehe. I could tell you weren't looking ahead in the video too because you did last second changes or seemed surprised by the next gate since you weren't setting yourself up for the next turn.

This being your first autocross though, just be glad you didn't kill anyone or blow anything up. Usually if I did poorly that's what I try to remember 8D

id recommend you throw away your first run at every event. just go slow and get a feel for the course the first time out. it always between walking and driving the course

Stock 215/45-18R Potenzas w/ 30-40% tread left @ 38 PSI and stretched on the the 8" RX8 rims. I really messed up the shoulders but I was expecting that and don't care b/c I'm going to 235s or 245s when they are done. My brother is technology illiterate, I wanted a different camera man but, he never showed.

I was the only AWD car that showed up, and the Forge BPV was viewed a bit ricey by most.

don't worry about tires until you get the basics down. Less on mods to the car, more on mods to the driver.

And it sounds like the people there are tools and don't understand turbo cars.

Learn how to drive first before throwing a ton of money at better parts. Yep, you'll wear out the stock tires but while you're doing it you'll be learning how to better control your car, which is pretty much the whole secret of SoloII Autocrossing.
You discovered something in your ride in the BMW, that a good autocross driver looks very smooth and in some cases, even slow. Their times at the end of the run tell you that they're actually quite quick.

So, what can you do to get better?
If you can find a autocross school in your area by all means sign up for it. You'll be surprised how much better your times will get. 2-3 seconds improvement isn't uncommon by the end of the day.

This school is sanctioned by a SCCA regions across the country, if there's one coming to your area it' worth your time and money to attend it.

38 PSI is way too low. I was running 50 on the RE050A's and they were still rolling over a bit.

Another thing that many forget... DSC OFF!!

I haven't bought any parts for autocross. When the tires are worn I'll still go wider reguardless if I autocross or not.

Why the "ricey" comments on the Forge BPV? Was it chrome??? Or did they not understand the sound it made?? Just curious.
