Hey guys..so my really good friend just picked up a sweet charcoal grey Volvo S60R with orange interior 6 spd and brembo brakes. He bought off a member on a forum and it came with a Bsr chip..Basicly ads 50 hp and 40 t/q ..anyways he looked into a speed6 and had a thread going on his forum about the 2 cars..Basicly they call the speed6 a poor mans s60R. Both owned by Volvo almost the same specs .They did however go on to say that the speed6 would outhandle a R out of the box no doubt. I reallly like his car and it feels fast as hell. My car has a cpe catted downpipe. TMIC and cpe ems and his car feels as fast or faster..just curiouse to know if anyone here has experience with this car Vs our speed6 . The seats are soo comfy and the car is soo refined it has 3 chasis modes comfort , sport and advanced and his picked it up for cheeep! I am considering this car. Anyone track it or think about this when they got the speed6? Anyone ever run one? lol..
Thanks |

I've beaten the shit out of an S60R but haven't driven a speed6 (just been a passenger) but with the mods the S60 that you're talking about has on it, I doubt the speed would be able to match it. I'd take a tuned ECU over basic bolt ons any day of the week.
Actually, the S60R is the most powerful car I've driven. Heh.

No doubt it's a sweet car. The weight of the R is just under 100 lbs heavier than the speed6 GT |

Both cars in their current form that you mentioned should be running solid mid 13s. I'd actually like to see this race a lot.

The fact that Mazda is owned by Ford is not entirely true. Ford owns 1/3 of Mazda, and car like the Speed 3 and 6 are still entirely made in Japan by Mazda.

Stock for stock the speed6 has the advantage; especially off the line. On a highway race, they might be pretty even.
