Just an idea. Perhaps I sat in my chair wrong when I came to work today.

I once went through the Buick Plant in Flint Michigan. Then picked up my new Buick and drove it home.

Then when I had the Cavalier I went through the Lordstown Ohio factory with the Cavalier kids. Did a little racing and had a car show.

Here is the part that hurts. Would there be any interest in visiting the Flatrock Mich Mazda 6 Assembly plant? Perhaps even do a little racing and have a cqr show? I don't really know if the Michigan plant allows tours? Would be interestewd in allowing a group of customers to go through their plant. Just an idea

No interest? You don't want anyone to know you other than your code name?

I thought about trying to put together a little trip for a Football game Mazda spends a ton on money on down in Florida, around Christmas. Free food and drinks if you're invited. I'll be there watch for me on TV Someday I'll be headed up to the plant also. Now it's time for a

If I lived anywhere near that area I'd love to -- but that's a hell of a road-trip.

It sounds like I had such a great idea about going through the plant that during the Detroit Auto Show DEALERS will get to.

If I was closer I would love to do a Plant tour. Would like to see how hard they work in that plant.

I don't really care how fast they work. The assembly line speed is normally something the union and the owners establish. I am more interested in the work place condition. I don't want to see half full baskets of parts with junk on the top.. Trash on the floor. Does it look like the folks are enjoying thier work? Or is it just a job? Perhaps I read too much into pride. Do the folks building Mazdas in America have pride? If I get a chance I'll also ask the line working what thay think of the cars they build.

We were thinking about it when we were in Detroit for a CEG meet... but decided to do Rouge instread, then scaled back due to time.

I would do it if I were in the area. The Mustang guys who did both tours were very impressed with Flat Rock.

I would road trip it if there were something going on (more than just a tour and see)... Goodness, I'm planning on driving the RX-7 out to San Diego next fall for a meet and I do Indy every year with Rex, and Contour Spring Zing too...
