Thumbs up

I attempted to put my DP on but due to the O2 sensors I wasn't able to. In the process the IC was taken off and the HKS SSQV hose was pulled out. Now that its back together I have a CEL and the dealership says it is because the "wastegate" (they were speaking of the BPV, I don't think they are the same but IDK). Any thoughts? It occurred on the same day the Standback was installed. One thing I noticed was they hooked the hoses up badly, i.e. the recirc hose was turned incorrectly and being crushed.

The other thing is maybe they probably just pulled the tiny tube (not sure the correct term) off the BPV. I read somewhere you can't do that without breaking the BPV, whenever I take the hose off I cut it then slide off the remaining piece so there is no pressure on it. Could that have really broken my BPV and now be causing my CEL? If so my garage will buy me a new one, provided at cost from CP-E cuz they are such a great company

Dude, you are having a tough time with BOVs. I'm not that experienced with BOVs. I suggest fixing the vacuum line first and see.

Well I solved two issues with the BPV. First the mechanic who worked on my car is an idiot, he forgot to replace a dipstick, put the recirc hose on sideways so it was being crushed by the CAI instead of clearing it. That seemed to fix the CEL but it came back after 20 minutes. After taking it back to the dealership and them having 4 mechanics say they had no idea and I had to take my car back to stock I noticed something. I took my BPV off to check it out and the rubber seal on the bottom was half gone. I need to get a new one but until then I rigged a little contraption that should work as well as a new seal would. I am not sure if that will fix the CEL but it is definitely not helping. I am not very happy with my garage, I think I am going to find a new one.

I did see on www.hksusa.com that HKS lists separately the O-ring and C-clip. It seems you have to purchase this through a HKS dealer. The O-ring was probably screwed up by twisting action during alignment.
