HEY! They're busy with the speed6 BUDDY! BACK OFF!!!

J/K heh sorry had to say it! But good question, they're finishing up the standback for the speed6 right now and i'm willing to bet similar controllers for other models will be easy adjustments!

To be honest, the wideband hasn't received much attention lately with all the other stuff going on. All we need to do is come with a strategy to calibrate multiple sensors at once, but doing so will take a lot of time and effort from the entire staff. Once we hit a lull we'll revisit projects like this one, but for right now the project is pretty stagnant

Is the CP-E one any different from this one?

Nope, not ours

I'm not too familiar with that O2 sensor, but ours is calibrated using a five gas analyzer as opposed to a free-air calibration. Our process using the five gas analyzer provides much better accuracy at the air/fuel ratios you care about. But, all this doesn't mean a whole lot if we can't sell 'em! Hopefully soon...

Please excuse my ignorance, but is the wideband only beneficial to forced induction individuals (ala MS3 and MS6 and the few TC/SC 6i and 6s out there) or can this benefit us naturally aspirated 6 owners? What exactly is there to expect from such a device and how would it play with your other customizers (MAFci 1st Gen and 2nd Gen)?

0-60 MPH (60.3 actually): 6.45s <-- Timed with MSD DashHawk (TCS off, D Mode, no brake torque, some wheelspin off the line). Repeatable. Time should improve with better launching and better tires.
Dyno/Tune (Conservative timing adjustment) 1/26/08 ---> 182.53 HP / 172.33 TQ at the wheels (SAE format)

That's a really good question

First off, just about anyone doing any kind of tuning could benefit from a wideband O2 sensor, since it's supposed to indicate what air/fuel mixture the engine is operating under. The problem is that most sensors these days aren't calibrated at near-stoich air/fuel ratios suffers. Since we calibrate our sensor at mixtures near stoich, our sensor doesn't suffer from such inaccuracies. An analogy for this would be calibrating a thermometer to measure temperatures around 2000°F, and then expect it to measure temperatures around freezing with any appreciable accuracy. But to answer your question, if you're doing any air/fuel tuning, a wideband is an absolute necessity, forced induction or not.

And since the 2nd Gen MAFci is basically a Standback, it will be compatible with our wideband, so when we do finally release it, you'll be able to datalog your air/fuel ratio with all of the other sensors that MAFci2/Standback will log.

Awesome! I guess this will be ANOTHER toy that I NEED to buy for the car. :P Keep us posted if a release date or priority change occurs where this gets bumped up. Am I correct to assume that you guys still plan to sell it for around $525 as posted on the site or will we be lucky enough to see it sell for a little less? Oh and your site still says that its planned release is Winter of 2006. :P

Hahaha, you mean we missed our Winter 2006 deadline?! CRAP!! I'll have to let the guys know we dropped the ball on that one

You know honestly, I don't even know what the guys plan to charge for the unit. I imagine that since very little has changed from where we left off on that project, the price should have stayed the same as well. But I will absolutely keep you updated
