I know CP-E has been VERY busy lately working on the FMIC, the Standback, and projects for the MS3. Props to all your hard work!

That being said, is there any estimate as to when CP-E might get around to integrating the oval muffler (the one used with the MS3 cat-back) into the third section of the MS6 cat-back?

I just installed the turbo-back system on my MS6 yesterday, and it is WAY WAY LOUDER than I expected! I opted for the dual resonator setup, hoping that would keep the volume in check, but I was wrong. I can't imagine how loud this exhaust must be without the resonators! I don't mind the exhaust being loud at WOT, but the highway drone at certain speeds (i.e. 55mph) is a bit too much for my tastes. I'm also concerned about the unwanted attention my car will probably receive now, even at cruising speeds.

If the oval muffler integration is still a long ways out (due to CP-E's busy status right now), I may have to revert my cat-back to OEM (temporarily) until the third muffler section is available, just to stay out of trouble.

BTW, great job on the down-pipe! The performance difference is awesome. The boost now holds at a consistent 15psi through the mid-range, and the torque no longer takes a steep nose-dive past 5500rpm.

Well, I'm glad to hear that you're at least enjoying the performance aspect of the exhaust. And many thanks for the compliments on the downpipe

We can do a couple things here, depending on how motivated you are. We could sell you one of our oval mufflers (not yet welded into the rear section), which has been proven to bring sound levels back near stock. You could bring your car to a muffler shop and have them install it. I can't recall the price of the muffler off-hand, but if you're interested I can get a quote for you.

Or, you can wait for us to get the muffler into the rear section so you can just swap the new one in. But to be honest, I'd be surprised if we had the rear section for people within a month or so. Things have just been so busy that I can't imagine that we'll have a lull anytime soon what with the FMIC about to come out, and I'm sure we're going to be inundated with phone calls regarding Standback installs.

Or, you can swap on your stock exhaust. I'd just hate to see you do that because I know how much work it takes to install/uninstall exhaust systems, and I'm sure you're anxious to enjoy your new purchase.

Let me know what you think and we'll go from there.

Thanks for the update on the status. I sort of expected you won't be getting to the rear muffler section for a bit, due to the other big projects happening. But, I figured I'd ask anyway.

I've decided I'll wait it out for the third section, and in the meantime use the OEM cat-back exhaust. This way I'll still get the performance increase of the down pipe at least. Swapping the cat-back portion of the exhaust isn't too difficult or time consuming. Certainly much much easier than the down pipe!

BTW, I thought I'd mention that after a couple of days of driving, the exhaust has seemed to tone down a bit, as the components "break in". The sound is still too loud for my tastes, but I can see how some people might like the noise.

Jordan, any updates on adding the oval muffler to the third cat-back section?

Unfortunately not

Brian (seoulful) took his car back to be rebuilt and now we don't have a SPEED6 in our shop anymore. So I think what's going to end up happening is we're goign to wait until we get a car in here for the dual exhaust and just do both projects: The dual exhaust and the SPEED3 muffler in our single exhaust. We've got someone interested in bringing their car by, so hopefully is won't be too mcu longer!

Let me know if they don't work out - I can generally leave my car and drive my g/f's if the schedule is right. (Especially to get a discount on a new part. . . umm. . . I mean to help the community )

Hah, we know no one does anything for free, so we always try to "pay back" the people who help us out in one way or another. Luckily seoulful (Brain) agreed to give us his car while he takes a trip to Korea, so we'll have all the SPEED6 we need!

But, I'm sure we'll have a need for a SPEED6 down the line, so don't go too far away
