Just brought my car in for service and clutch TSB. I got tired of waiting in the lobby with the old magazines and fuzzy tv screen so I strolled over to the sales department. Now mind you, I initially put a deposit down on the MS3 before it came out back in June. Unfortunately I seriously needed a car and the arrival date of the MS3 was in question and so I settled for my second choice, the MS6. Well today I took out the MS3 with a newbie 3 week old salesman who had the smell of desperation on him. I was really excited to check out my first love. Well jumping into the car, fit and finish was definitely a notch lower than our quasi luxury setup in the MS6. I noticed off the bat, the clutch felt like air, really, no effort necessary, at all. So as I opened up the throttle, holy torque steer batman, in 1st, 2nd , AND 3rd gear. It was like the steering wheel had little gremlins tugging at it. And there was the chirp of the tires to total out the experience. The handling felt lighter, defintely confidence inspiring. Now coming from the MS6 with stiff awkard clutch, AWD, and grand touring characterisc handling, the difference was like night and day. And I'd have to say that I am extremely pleased I ended up with the MS6. After the clutch fix, things should be gravy. I kind of see it as my first love ended up being just an infatuation that was all wrong for me. I just lucked out and got the love of my life. There hasn't been a day since I got the MS6 that I haven't stopped and thought about what if I had gotten the MS3, but now those thoughts are dust in the wind. The grass always seems greener on the other side but today I discovered I'm already in paradise.

I work at a Mazda dealership and not only own a MS6, but have driven several stock MS6's and MS3's... the MS3 feels a bit lighter and fairly nimble, but I agree with you completely, MS6>MS3 anyday of the week. I love traction far too much
![]() The only cars I ever regret not buying are either an STI or it's toned down sister car- the Legacy GT (preferably the Spec B, as it now has the STI's bulletproof 6-speed!).

After driving FWD cars since forever, it feels kinda weird to launch hard but not spinning tires and fighting torque steer. But I like it!

yeah the MS3 can be righteously darty under WOT and uneven pavement. I came partly out of my lane on a testdrive and got scary close to swiping someone in the #2 lane.
Judging strictly from a performance standpoint, the 6 is a superior dragster in every way. Puts it's power down in a considerably more refined way. The 3 is better at carving the hell out of some backroad twisties. Also, I really dont understand why the 3 doesnt have an LSD.
