So I took my speed6 in for an oil change this weekend and MazdaUSA had sent me an email to get $25 for test driving a car. I had some time to kill so I went over to the dealership and ran into the guy I bought my Speed6 from. I asked him if I could take a Speed3 for a spin and he said since he knew I wouldn't wreck it sure thing. I took a black Speed3 GT out and it drives extremely well. Looks like they really fixed the clutch from the Speed3. It engages smoothly and man it's got a lot of power! It's a great car and really moves, I had no problems in turns and it accelerates quickly. I still like my speed6 better but this is one heck of car for $23-25K. They told me that they were selling these to people that were buying them without even test driving it.

I think when you buy a Mazda they had you fill out something like a profile that MazdaUSA has. I get emails all the time from them.

Just for about half an hour. Took it around some arterials, opened it up a little on the freeway and then back.

I brought by 6s in to the dealer for an oil change and some warranty stuff and was able to get a speed3 for a loaner. Over the past couple years I have received a couple speed6's and an RX8. I really enjoyed the speed3 and was impressed at the quality that is delivered for such a reasonable price. I had each car for about a day and I still think that the speed6 is the best out of all of them. However the 3 was a close second - it would be perfect for a no kids type environment. I do like the room of the 6 and also the fact that it is all wheel drive. Lastly - I really enjoy how both the speed 6 and 3 are understated and do not have all of the attention getting spoilers and hood scoops that some of the other cars rely on these days. Excellent cars - all of them. Now if I could just talk my wife into letting me trade up.....hmmmmmm

, however, there is absolutely NO way you ever had a speed 3, speed6 or a rx8 as a loaner. mazda of north america will not pay for a dealer to have those kind of loaners. there is a reason most loaners tend to be boring automatics( everyone can drive them). mazda will only allow a dealership to get paid there 30 per day for usage if its a normal 3,6,or tribute. typically most dealers wont even have a cx-7 in their loaner inventory, but that has more to do with if the dealer chooses to have a loaner like that. bottom line, if you drove the speed 3, speed6 or rx8 then that dealer is taking a 80g loss by using them as loaners and not selling them, they are employee demo's( again not really all that likely), or your simply lying out of your ass and hope no one realizes.

it's a good thing you don't usually call people out, because sometimes YOU can be wrong. Like in this case. I just had an RX-8 loaner for two weeks while my tranny and clutch was being replaced (Covered by warranty at 23000). And I'm pretty sure I saw a speed6 with the little rental id sticker on the windshield sitting in the back. |
