Okay..so I am new this forum..and I am here because I need some feedback.
Granted I love the LOOK of the 6, and I LOVE the LOOK of my car..otherwise I HATE with a passion the rest of the car....
Here's why...and please let me know if you are having any of these problems:

About 3 weeks after I bought it the problems began...driver headlight went out....3 weeks later passenger headlight out.....trans. problem (it is an automatic, but it was changing gears like I was driving manually and I wasn't catching the clutch right..basically shifting VERY rough. I took it in they "fixed" it (lets use that term lightly)...Flat tire at 6 months..(more on that and how it is a defect later) ..then car started sounding like I was dragging my muffler when backing up...it went into the shop...a "SIMS" or "SHIMS" kit that is on rear brake wasnt apparently put on right from the factory and the rear brakes, and rotors were all shot...it was in for 2 days...getting new sims kit, rotors, brakes...basically they said I had been driving it with no rear brakes...great huh?...it gets better....My dash lights have now gone out...from lord only knows why.....And I have had my 3rd flat..same as one mentioned above...at 260 bucks a tire this is killing me..FINALLY a real tire place diagnosed the rims as not being true..the rim has a hole in it allowing air escape (this has happened since I got it 4th flat same tire..even the factory tire) Now Mazda dealership is giving me hell saying I have to buy the rim until they can determine that its a warranty problem. And all the rubber molding under spoiler is pulling out..I dont even know why, since this part never moves! My cover on the passenger side door light falls off if you slam door, and my fuse box door will not stay on ..falls under my feet.. I hate the interior..my fabric is fraying and leaving pillings everywhere! plus my silver plastic molding is scratched up..from anything that touches it....Now my trans. problem is retuning!

I am so fed up! I take careof my grandmother and had one of these flats with her in the car....I just want this car to disappear..I have never spent 27 thousand on such a piece of shit in my life!

Please dont think I am abusing this car..it has not even as much as a door ding...in parking lots I park it all the way out to the end...its still my baby...but I am losing my cool with this car....2004 bought brand new.now with 15,000 miles..almost 14 months old

Any Help? Similar Problems?? Thanks! Meredith

hi.

using the feature for 2 minutes would show you that some, if not most, of your problems are widespread among 6 owners. the hole the in the rim is new to me, though.

Wow we can celebrate the problems as standard features on the mazda 6...what a great buy!

It's not to my surprise tha mazda does have the 2nd lowest industry quality. Mazda's are overpriced pieces of shit, Im with yah on this and i have a lemon myself with a pulling issue and the lease is going to be cancelled by the end of next week.

I want to say welcome to the club but based on your post I guess "sorry to hear that" would be the thing to say.
I've read some of the same problems you wrote about but my 6i has been trouble free so far.
I think you'll find some help here, if that's what you're looking for...

Sorry for your ailments. Sounds like you have alot of bad things. Life sucks eh?

But, just to point out an inaccurate statement you made -- so others don't get misled by your comments in the future.

Mazda is not 2nd lowest long term (which is what counts). Its actually 19th out of 37, ahead of VW, Audi, MINI, Nissan, Subaru, etc.

Why does long term count and not initial quality? Why would something several years down the road matter if say in a lease the IQ matters the most?

Long term definitely counts more than initial because a car will ALWAYS have more problems its first few years than it will as the car is around for 5+ years. Its taking the average over a long time to get a broader picture of the norm vs a short time period.

As for the original poster... I am very sorry you're having such a hard time with this. Have you written to Mazda Corporate about any of this? It sucks that with all the people on this car without problems like yours, that someone has to get that car A few of your problems are known to the community already and commonly fixed problems, others, like the rim are not. And I've not heard of your rear brake issue before either. The spoiler gasket is easily fixed by any dealer worth a damn. Are you still not happy with the transmission? Check with the dealer to make sure you have the most current ECU update. Its possible you've got damage to it now and it needs to be replaced with isn't unheard of, but not super common. I'm sure that the tyre/rim issue will be resolved and you should hit up Mazda to pay you back for all the $$ you spent on the tyres. Definitely send a letter to Corporate if you haven't yet, and if you have send another and call them up. Let us know how things progress.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to write to corporate.....I just don't know how to go about getting the contact info? Does anybody?

I hate my dealership, which is a huge problem....everytime I take the car in I feel as though they think I am lying and I somehow have to prove...whatever it is the problem is....I called the service manager to talk to him about the problem and of course he's never called back....I really am starting to think its cause I am a woman...anytime my father has to run it over there he gets first class treatment...The worst part is when I bought the car I called they had it, I came over signed, paid in cash and drove away.....so I wasn't even a problem for them!!!

Really I am just fed up at this point especially after they told me to pay for the rim myself!!....And then IF they see fit..they will credit me the money..WONDERFUL!! why dint I think of that...

Anybody want a Lapis Blue 6..2004? I think I can manage a sweet deal for u!

Contacting Corporate is very easy, the info is up on the mazdausa.com website. As for the dealer, try going to a different one, and make sure you include how you were treated in your letter.
