I read about the 40,000 mile review on the RX8. I think they were a bit hard on the car. I plan I buying a 6 and would like to read what they said about the 6...is there a long term review put out by car and driver? also...is there an article when it first came out? month and year of the magazine would be great!

There has been a long term review of the v6 mtx by car and driver magazine. I had it but threw it away.

Some of what I remember are, not exact quotes

1. Clutch is diffucult to find engagement point
2. The climb up the rpm range is a thrill. Kind of like a small turbo
3. The 6 is not that sporty

I want to know what issue it was too, I like to read it again.

grahamb covered the long term test, here are a couple more. Again these are from Car and Drivers website with a simple search using "Mazda 6" as the search string.

Funny, their long-term review of the 6 was one of the best C&D long-term reviews I've read, and a large part of the reason why I bought the vehicle.

Not to hijack the thread or anything but does anyone know if the engine cover of the 6s changed from 03-05? Looking at the pic on that C&D link shows one pic of the engine cover and when I see under the hood of a 6s everywhere else, it looks much diff. A bit uglier even. Anybody??

If this has already been discussed then I apologize, but I was jus curious since I've never heard any mention of such a change.

While it was rather decent (even a blind hog finds an acorn every now and then), they praise the AWFUL tires and complain the ride is too firm when it is too soft.
