I have the 2016 M6 GT. I'm guessing that I cannot mount it on the mesh by the rear-view mirror. I know there is a compact-sized sensor that might fit inside the sunglass holder. Has anyone tried that? What about between the visor and the roof?
It needs to attach to the windshield, or they don't guarantee that it will be read correctly. If it isn't read, you'll get hit with fines. I mounted it on the windshield, about an inch below the stalk the rear view mirror is mounted to. This fits the guidelines of suitable mounting locations that came with my transponder.
I have my EZ-Pass mounted right behind the mirror in the black dots. 2 years now, no issues reading the EZ-Pass in multiple states, Express lanes, unnecessary 5 mph slow lanes, and even the dumb Verrazano Bridge with the damn all the way stop and wait for the little bar to come up. Can't see it from outside the car, can't see from inside the car.
My FasTrak pass is right above the rear view mirror in the center of the windshield. It doesn't block my field of view, is mostly unnoticeable (I get the occasional "What is that?"), it reads perfectly when I pass through the toll gate and conforms to the mounting guidelines.
I mounted mine on the blackout area butted up to the left of the wiper sensor etc.... I have 3 tickets for high speed lanes. I guess I have to move it to clear glass below mirror on center?!?!? Anyone else seen this problem? BTW, NJ, DE, MD toll roads.
