yeah do take your time. I got the 2nd from the top Pioner since there was a $400 difference. I love the deck. I will not ever go back to the stock unit, well I will when I sell it haha.
and I don't know how to program the "my mazda 6" it's not the same as the Metra kit. I haven't messed with it trying to figure it out. Email the seller on ebay and see if they know, or if they can give you the manufactures info so you can ask them |

I was messing around with the 9 pins on the back, they are the ones with the black base. The center display started to work so this leads me to believe that they are supposed to be jumped some how. The display works I just can't adjust the clock. Any suggestions would be helpful.

are you talking about the little 2 black spots on the lower board?
http://imageshack.us/a/img849/1205/20121017184125.jpg there is spots in the auto climate controls that have to click into that spot. You must not have it pushed into place correctly I just read your pm, and saw this, and thought I'd chime in. |

You have the molex connector and then the 16 pin connector next to that. To the right there are 9 pins, a row of 5 with 4 below.

for the auto climate control I you use the 16 pin and the 2 pin spots. the radio harness I believe has those in it. use the metra install instructions. the kits are the same in wiring should say that somewhere in the walkthrough.
if you don't have auto climate then you have to use the extra harness that comes with the kit |

The kit said that the 16-16 pin connector (the one that is two rows of 8) is not used for auto climate controls. The small flat connector that I reused from the original stereo, and the stereo harness is plugged in. Just need to know what connection the upper display derives its signal from so I can verify that connection.

well mine is in the car, and until I get it wrapped I'm not going to pull it out.
If the metra says you don't use the 16pin one then you won't. I think the stereo harness has the 5pin molex on it, then you use the small 2pin one which I think is pink and blue... then the auto stuff just plugs into those 2 little black connections |

I think my problem is that the little 2 pin connector from the kit doesn't actually connect to anything on the factory harness, ie there are no wires that feed the "Can Bus signal". Does anyone know where to tap into the Can Bus signal?

Yes the factory harness on the 2003 6 has nothing in those pins.
