I have an 09 6 4i without the Bose system. I was considering installing an amp and small sub but I don't want any obstructions in the trunk. I have seen the first gen with the sub in the rear deck and I wondered if the 2nd gen Bose is the same way? If so, I may be able to hang one there the same way. I know there is a grill in the middle on the rear deck but I don't see a cut-out for a sub from inside the trunk.

Anyone know if this will work?

I've pulled apart the interiors on the 09's already. There's a lot of room to hange something from the trunk deck. If you feel like popping off the back panel, you can see for yourself all the room you have to work with. Pop off the c-pillars, unbolt the rear seat side bolsters, and then pull out the back panel...it's all one piece. You'll have to unplug the 3rd brake light once you have the panel starting to come out.
