Hey guys. I'm new. I actually JUST got a 6 today. I love it. It's the 4 cylinder I Sedan. Roomy enough for me as a big guy and I have enoug head room (something my '99 contour did NOT have.)

In any case, all introductions aside what I would really like to know if any of you have any personal experience is this: Will the AuxMod work in the 2007 model? I can't find any documentation of this. The only reason I ask is because my console does not have a 'tape' button. I just send an email to Sylfex as well. I just need a darned aux port on this thing!

Also, if anyone knows of any other confirmed ways for that system, preferrably cheaper than the Audio Link USB kit (http://www.therpmstore.com/product_i...roducts_id=141) which I will only buy if the half-priced-and-better-alternative auxmod does not work.

+1 - It is compatible according to Sylfex. The 'media' button on the radio will activate AuxMod once installed. Works great on my '06... definitely recommended.

OK. Thanks a bunch guys.

I figured generation was referring to age of the car. I didn't actually research. Seeing now that mine would be the end (correct?) of Generation 1, I'll pay a bit more attention to that.

I'll place an order here in a bit. Also, does anyone know off hand if I can run a cable all the way into the bottom compartment between the seats? I guess where one would store CD cases. I want to end up with a situation similar to the 3 where there is an aux port down there and use the upper tray to hold my zune and plug the charger in below (by drilling a hole or two in that plastic) as this is one of the only things I liked more about the 3 as opposed to the 6.

Yes, it should be relatively easy to do that. The cupholder and center console will have to come out during the installation, which will expose almost the entire area where the wire will run. Just drill through the bottom of the armrest compartment and run the wire up from the bottom.
