I wanted to make a thread where everyone can post up pictures of their "system" installations.
Format. 1. Pictures - A couple pics of the finished product from different angles would be nice. 2. Description - List components, box construction, cost, etc. 3. Opinion - (optional) How you like the setup, things you'd do to improve it. Please don't post any comments, it will only clutter the thread. If you have questions, take it to PMs or start a new thread. |

Example. (Taken from JL's website, http://mobile.jlaudio.com/gallery/detail.p...ehicle_id=2724)
![]() Factory Stereo connected to JL Cleansweep. A single 12" W6v2 powered by a 250 watt JL Slash series amp. Door speakers were replaced by Q-Series speakers and are powered by a 4-way 300 Watt JL slash amp. Very practical and stealthy at the same time. Doesn't sacrifice quality for space. |

I really like the stealth of your install Nealio, thats awesome.
![]() Boston acoustic z6's run off of a JL 300/4 (pretty ghetto how its wired, 2 blown input channels ) and a JL 10w7 run off a JL 500/1. Everything is bolted down and I still can fold down my seat and put two snowboards between the amps and the sub, or a couple skateboards fit nicely with the sub in place. And theres some room behind the sub with makes a great place for a handle of Smirnoff cost: too much. Although I bought the 300/4 used, and the speakers were half price on ebay, and the sub/amp came together half price also. Not including my carpc stuff my system cost maybe about 1500 with materials for the box, wiring etc, and I think thats over estimating. With the carpc its well into the 2500-3000 range. I love this set up. Its perfectly balanced for me and I'm so glad I ditched the rear speakers. Hits very hard, and very low, yet still hits pretty well for most of the metal I listen too. Even so, the Boston's do a great job at sounding good even when the sub isn't as loud in some songs. The only real downfall is the fact that it pretty much takes my whole trunk. I don't really put much back there, but on occasion I wish I could put more. Its good to have friends with pick up trucks just for that reason

![]() ![]() SSA Icon 10 Sundown Audio 1000 x 1 Alpine 9835 Alpine PDX 4 x 100 Morel Dotech 6 inch front stock rear I really like the bass from the Icon. I have to show it to most people so they believe its a 10". It plays the lows very well without breaking up at all. If I ever get around to installing some sound deadening, its going to sound even better. The morel's also sound pretty good. I wish I would have just stuck with Focal's like i had intended, but i wanted to try something different. The PDX and the Sundown great amps. Does what is supposed to and leaves a small footprint. Cost umm the sub install was the most. I think total im at about 2000. |

Here is mine
Just did this last weekend. Wanted it to take up as little space as possible. I'm still considering a few tweaks like amp placement, sub cover, and wire management, but functionally it works awesome. It's all wood construction which was quite interesting to build into the side wall and still achieve the correct volume. Total cost was about $280. |

Here is my setup:
OEM Bose HU JL Audio Cleansweep with Ipod Nano hooked up Audio Control ESP Base expander Audio Control EQL Dual Bandwidth 13 Band EQ Audio Control 3XS Four channel Xover Soundstream 700.1 Subwoofer aamp soundstream 500.4 four channel amp Scosche EFX 1F Cap Infinity Kappa 65.5cs component fronts stock Bose rear full range JL Audio 10W7 in a sealed MDF enclosure I know, it needs wire management. But I just finished installation and just needs detail work. I plan on carpeting the sub box and putting a thin carpeted board over the amps to give it that flush mounted look. I went for a high SQ and minimalist design. I don't plan on entering any sound offs. ![]() ![]()

My Stereo system was designed with full stealth in mind, to keep
with the Mazdaspeed 6 street sleeper theme. I wanted more than the flat "Bose knows best" barely tunable sound, and add more frequency response, better user adjustability, and overall better sound quality....wtf was I thinking?! Stealth meant keeping the factory head unit, and for the most part a factory look in the door speakers, so if you take a good look, you couldn't tell there was a fidelity system installed. Of course I had to have a little bling, so I kept that in the trunk...out of plain sight. I ended up using Rockford Fosgate throughout the entire car, except for the Head Unit, and the MP3 player. Overall, I would say I achieved my goal....here's the set up. Rockford Fosgate: P162C - 100w 2-way Punch speakers (Front) P1572C - 120w 2-way Punch Speakers (Rear) P1S410 - 300W 10" Single 4-ohm P1 Subwoofer (qty 2) P400-2 - 2 channel (100w @ 4ohms RMS) Amplifier P400-4 - 4 channel (50w @ 4 ohms RMS) Amplifier 3Sixty.1 - Digital Signal Processor 4 Gauge Amp Hook up kit I pulled the Factory Amp from under the passenger seat, and 'modified' the bracket to hold the 360.1 in place. This conveniently allowed me to use the factory wiring from the HU to the 360, and factory speaker wires. Keep in mind I went for fidelity, not raw power. I mounted both Amps in the trunk on a custom Amp Board, then put both subs into fiberglass enclosures to maximize usable trunk space. Here's the end result: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This system IS a little louder than OEM, but more importantly sounds fantastic. The audio is fine tuned with a Palm Tungsten PDA through Bluetooth on the 360.1. Only thing I may change is the front door speakers to component speakers. I think they would even out sound, and drive more mid-range to the front of the car. The 2-ways do a descent job, but I have to cut rears a few dB's to properly balance the sound. Picked the Electronics on a good deal, so with the amp board and enclosures, I'm in it for about $800.00...a very worthwhile investment!
