2004 Mazda 6s Sedan w/ Bose Stereo Information

Front Doors
6.5" door panel cutouts
stock speaker size: 156mm
Impedance: 2ohms

.75" tweeters in door sail panel

Drop-in aftermarket replacements:
6.5" components with .75" tweeters

This a quite common size and should be very easy to get a good set of aftermarket speakers.

Rear Doors
5"x7" door panel cutouts
stock speaker size: 5.25"
Impedance: 2 ohms

Drop-in aftermarket replacements:
5"x7" coaxials or woofers
5.25" coxials or woofers

Once again these are very common and should be very easy to get a good set of speakers.

Subwoofer
9" cutout
stock subwoofer size: 9"

Modified fit replacements:
Any sub woofer with a diameter under 9" should mount into this unit fine with an appropriate custom adapter. This would include most 8" subs that I know of. However, if you are going to run the subwoofer with out an enclosure behind it I would highly recommend that you ensure the sub is designed for infinite baffle setups. I have installed an 8" in the rear deck and the sound quality is very much improved over the stock sub and can provide a decent amount of bass without taking up much trunk space.

I spent some time on mazdatechinfo.com yesterday, browsing through service manuals and wiring diagrams for the 2004 and 2005 Mazda6. I made a pin out diagram of the main audio connector on the Bose systems.

These are 3025 x 2059 gifs, so I'll just link to them here.

Audio (Bose) Wiring Diagram A.gif
Audio (Bose) Wiring Diagram B.gif
Audio (Bose) Wiring Diagram C.gif
Audio (Bose) Wiring Diagram D.gif

Here's the color codes for the wiring diagrams

Okay so if this is correct than the BOSE sub inputs are sourced back to the amp not the headunit. So if I want to run 2 amps I'd have to find a 4ch with a preout for the subs?

Has anyone already posted the pin out of the factory amplifier and not the head unit?

I don't want to waste the time writing it up if its already been done.

This should be, at least on the 2005 Bose:

X - Rear Right Speaker Output - WHITE/BLUE (+)
Z - Rear Right Speaker Output - BLACK/BLUE (-)

I am trying to use the existing wiring for the Bose sub to hook up an Infinity Bass link. The Bose sub harness is in my hand and I have the following wires:

blue\red stripe
black
yellow
brown
black\orange stripe

I have searched this forum and the internet for an hour and have not been able to find a clear answer on what each wire is for. I assume the following:

blue\red stripe is constant power
black is ground
yellow is remote power
brown is rear +
black\orange stripe is rear -

Can anyone please tell me if this is correct???? I hooked the bass link up using this assumption and the amp did not power up. Any help would be appreciated.
