Just wondering what shipping company you Canadians use when buying stuff from the States? I'm looking at buying some parts from some of the forum sponsors, but don't want to get stuck with major fees/duties when coming across the border. Do all shipping companies charge these fees, or are some better than others?
Also, who would you recommend dealing with when it comes to the forum sponsors?

Avoid UPS, they have the highest brokerage fees. |

yes... ANYTHING but UPS...
if they have USPostal Service (USPS) use that... But sometimes you are stuck with UPS because sellers seem to thing that's the easiest to deal with, then your screwed! |

Everything I've ever shipping to the states was with Canada Post. It's the cheapest, and I've never had ANY problems with them. I make sure to check off "gift" when I mail it, so my recipients don't get nailed with fees or duties, and I have yet to get charged any 'back charges' from mailing something.

The RPM Store has shipped me stuff a couple times with UPS, even large items like a strut bar, and they've never charged me any brokerage fees. FedEx on the other hand charged me a lot both times CP-E shipped me something using them.

Agreed.
UPS = EVIL! EVIL! EVIL! FedEx = EVIL but not as EVIL as UPS. AWong, I think you mean't USPS. USPS is the cheapest and best and pretty quick.

Yup, UPS = the rape...
When I bought the MS short shifer, cargo tray and all weather mats. I was charge $40 in brokerage fees (on top of duties) Any Forum sponser is good to deal with. I've dealt with RPM and Tiffany @ showcase and have been great experiences. I recently ordered something from heronew but didn't get a tracking number or confirmation it's been sent so I'm hoping it's on the way.. lol
