sorry i havent really been posting and helping out with the atmosphere around here in general. my apologies.

anyway, seeing as the mazda6 update is being launched and the new Sport model comes with the darkened headlight units, i wonder if it is possible to replace our current chrome headlight with the new ones. or otherwise, does anybody know any aftermarket supplier thats got them ? any idea of the cost also?

here's a teaser from the official website.

Yes... I think they look gorgeous - the dark headlights, tail lights, sports gill, and the black piano finish and buttons. And I've only had my 6 for 6 months. Well... that's life.

I too am interested in the sports grill and headlights.

Will appreciate if anyone has any info on them - how much? Will it fit the 04-05 mazda 6?

Thanks guys.

It will be possible to use the new headlights in the older cars, but they will cost around $400 (USD) per side, just as the current headlights do now. There are currently no aftermarket replacements.

IT COSTS US$400 PER LIGHT STOCK !!! somebody shoot me now..... i think the combined US$800 plus postage and the other costs can be put to more effective uses eg. exhaust or intake or even both !

Painting is a viable option. Or perhaps we wait a little while and see if aftermarket replicas will be made. fingers crossed, but US$400 each is rather on the expensive side. hell, i reckon actual cosmetic surgery on the eyes will be cheaper.

Or you can ask a Mazda dealer how much the headlight unit cost on the older model. I think they should be the same price.

I've had some bad experience with aftermarket products - cracks, wrong fitment, etc.

Or 'accidentally' damage your headlights, and have your insurance company pay for it (+excess) - just ask the panel shop to get the new lights.... hahaha...
