I have a 2008 6 with a 2.3L 40000 miles-Can't tell if it's similar to yours in a way....
i just had mine flushed at jiffy lube....they have the machine that directly connect to your tranny (100% flush 8.6 quarts). Flushed it in 25 minutes. They recommended only 1 type of fluid that had a synthetic blend (MTV I think it was called) Their computer had it so they should tell you when you get there. I got it done 4 $135 with a 30% manager discount after I asked about it. 20 bucks off then a 10% off for any service coupon.
Only downer was that they didn't change the filter. Guy said to change after 100000K.
Hope this helps...

It depends on the transmission. I installed an inline filter on the return line from the AT cooler because I could not find good info about the 6-speed AISIN transmission. The old 5-speed transmission has a filter that is a standard style. Drop the oil pan and change the filter.
