neutral safety switch

Hey guys im new to this site I just bought a 2005 Mazda 6 and it starts sometimes but other times i go into the car and I turn the key and the engine doesn't turn over. It doesn't even make a clicking sound. But when i go and move the shifter from parking to neutral the car turns on. So i believe it is the neutral safety switch. So my question is where is the switch located, can someone run me through the process of replacing it and how much does the switch cost. Thanks

For the archives: You should be able to find it on Rock Auto. The switch is located on the transmission where the selector cable rotates a shaft.
