The AT light will come on when i start the car and stay on, randomly. It will not happen for weeks or even months at time. And sometimes its multiple times in 1 day. The car runs perfectly fine with it off, but when it is on, it only reaches like 3k rm so u cant drive. It revs up and down over and over. Im pretty sure this always happens when the AT light is on tho. So for some reason it turns on randomly.

Brought it into as shop to get looked at and they looked at the computer or somthing and said that the transmission isnt communicating with the engine so it cant rev or drive correctly. Also he said their was a bulletin or a recall of somekind for this problem.

So we bring it to the mazda dealership and they reboot the computer or w/e and they said that the recall makes the light turn on but they scanned for the recall and my problem is somthing different.
EVERYONE has been very vague and uninformative, but this guy has documents and what not showing it was a recall/bulletin.

Anyone else have this problem for 04i's?

Next time the light comes back on, get it to the dealer and tell them it's still doing it, don't wait next time. Could be a few things: bad valvebody, bad servo, bad sensor, or the re-flash could fix/improve it (it improved my shift quality but I have a different transmission).

Also, when is the last time you have had a transmission flush WITH MAZDA FLUID, not that crap where they add an additive package (it's bs).

Well its almost impossible. Once it turns on 99% of the time it turns off within 10 minutes, so i just wait and wait and wait. Few times its been all day tho. Also its already been reflashed, thats what i meant by rebooting. But when i went and picked up the car from the dealership i couldnt leave for 5 minutes b/c the light was on...

And i bought the car used a year ago, 80k miles and i have never flushed it since.

The car seems perfectly fine other than when the light turns on so that leads me to think it has somthing to do with the computers not communicating like the mechanic said.

How often are you supposed to flush it?
It turned off within 2 minutes. Did not even come close to having enough time to walkin talk to them and get the car back in there.
Ive found a bulletin that it could possibly be, # 14. http://www.aboutautomobile.com/TSB/2004/Mazda/Tribute
Anyone else any help? I doubt flushing it would fix all my problems, b/c if it needs to be flushed wouldnt i have a problem all the time?

You're assuming it would be a problem all the time.

Flush every 30k miles.

Flush it dude you're overdue. atx fluid not only moves the gears in an atx it's also a friction modifier. DO IT then post back.
