I have a 2004 Mazda6 2.3i. Last August while on a road trip I noticed my transmission was slipping in fourth gear. I flushed my fluid, and all seemed to be well, until just now when it started doing it again. I've only drive ~5k miles since then. It works fine when in the other gears, and it doesn't do it *all* the time. It seems to be erratic.

What should I do about this problem? I'm hesitant to just go to a transmission shop because of the costs of a rebuild =\.

Thanks.

might want to explain the symptoms you are having. hoping the issue isn't when flooring it from cruising at about 3k or so....cause that's design for the most part, not slipping.

I've been having the exact same problem. It only seems to do it though when driving at low speeds. Usually at about 30-35 mph.

Yea mines the same and i have all my mounts replaced with AWR ones so i feel it but i thinks its been like that for as long as i have owned the car. Even after the dealer flashes, trans cooler install and regular fluid flushes and just did my pan and filter (80,000k) and i had a decent amount of very super fine metal shavings. Even after that all got wiped away it still does it. Like another poster said it doesnt happen all the time and only at low speeds in city driving.
